Today’s case is about the unsolved murder of Mexican Musician Chalino Sanchez who was handed his own death note, live on stage. Later that night, Chalino was kidnapped by alleged Police and by the morning, he’d be found dead.
Chalino Sanchez was crowned the King of Corridos and is the idol of many musicians today, including Peso Pluma, who in 2023 went viral after receiving his own death note.
The message warned Peso Pluma that if he performed his upcoming concert in Tijuana, it would be his last. It had been sent by a Cartel over his song ‘El Gavilán’, that he’d made with Luis R Conriquez and Tony Aguirre. The lyrics complimented El Chapo, which enraged the cartel. But after Peso Pluma received a death note over a bad lyric, theories behind Chalino’s unsolved murder were re-ignited across the internet.
Corrido music is about love, hardship and crime. Narcocorrido is specifically about the life of narcos. Chalino Sanchez lived a crazy life full of revenge, drug trafficking, coyotes, and music. And it’s Chalino’s music that may be the reason for his early death.
Decades on Chalino’s music has millions of fans and plays on Spotify, with his image being blasted across the Coachella Mainstage in 2024 thanks to Peso Pluma.

Two young women, named İkbal Uzuner and Ayşenur Halil, both 19 years old, were brutally murdered by Semih Çelik, who is also 19. Their heads, arms, and legs were severed and dismembered. The government and the media are not taking action on this issue and are even trying to impose a media blackout. Alongside this case, many women who have been harassed and threatened are trying to make their voices heard through social media. Eleanor, you have a large following, and as a woman, we ask you to amplify our voice globally. In Turkey, 290 women have been killed just this year. Could you please make a video about this incident? Wow, what a story! I went to listen to one of Chalino's songs by the way, wanted to hear how he sounded, and he really did have a nice voice, I can see why he chose singing as a career. Chalino's whole life story sounded like a tv drama. Such a tragedy, the man lost his life after he turned it around and left a young family behind. Then his son also mysteriously dies at 19. I really do hope that Mexico -this beautiful country- survive and win over this drug and crime pandemic and thrive. With the young bride thing, it was unfortunately suuuuuper common for teenage girls to marry VERY grown men in Mexico back in the day - so it’s very likely their friends and family just saw it as something completely fine to do. There’s even this joke that I hate in Spanish that essentially just implies a man robbed his wife from the crib, implying that their weeeell aware of how young their brides are. 😔

Yeah we have the term "cradle snatcher" in English. Most people these days use it ironically as in like I'm 11 months older than my boyfriend so I'd joke that I'm a cradle snatcher 😂
