Just some advice. When your going somewhere that you know that is calling for snow. Take a tarp with you. You lay the tarp out on the ground in front of the steps of your camper. This way when it stops snow you just grab on side of the tarp and pull it.. a lot easier then shoveling and you also don't have that frozen bit stuck to the ground like you do when you shovle

I’m a single female in her mid 40’s and I just spent the last year full-time RVing in a 35’ 5th wheel pulled by a 1 ton from TX to AZ to TX to GA up to ME and then to PEI in Canada and back to TX. It is a LOT of work going solo and times where I was scared, frustrated, exhausted, and plenty of tears before I took dee breath and did what needed to be done. I’m so proud of myself and thankful I can remember back on my adventure and am so glad I jumped in and did it. I even managed to back that thing up into a couple spots…although a friendly neighbor was always willing to help me when I couldn’t do it on my own. All that to say…ladies, you can do it! Don’t let fear keep you from living your dreams!

That's a great story! I look up to you ladies! I only watch Catherine Gregory for my RV inspiration, but this couple is my fast favorite new RV mentors. I was going to sell my trailer, but now I feel inspired again to plan some outings. Your story really helps nudge me into gear!

Safety first!! Always be ready to protect yourself!! It’s a crazy world out there, but it’s worth seeing.. I’m pretty much homesteading on 15 acres I own in SW PA, all four seasons and mild winter but good snow, hunting and canning, gardening.. I’d like to do a road trip tho.. always wanted to go to red wood forest and yellow stone.. can’t afford it now with the economy and gas prices.. someday maybe🇺🇸😎❤️

My best camping experience was a rainy weekend in the mid-1990s. Hubby and kids were coming separately. They did not make it due to weather getting worse. I spent the weekend alone, just the Rottie, me and a radio. Wonderful time!!

A plastic dome over the roof vent will prevent it freezing and keep snow from blowing in when the vent is cracked open. For getting snow off the roof, a snow rake works best.

So, I am not the only person who can smell the snow coming! I can also smell the rain before it gets here too. Having done quite a bit of wild camping, I learned a long time ago to have a good knife on me that can take out any animal that wants to mess with me. I REFUSE to be on some animal's menu!

I've just discovered your channel and this video has been the third one I've enjoyed. You did beautifully, Tanya. I felt badly when the light bulbs dropped. I was OK soon after when I saw the flowers. Nice details. Dinner looked delicious! The drone shots were great. And I really enjoyed the well-done musical accompanists throughout the video. They were well chosen pieces and ran for perfect lengths of time. And I think that you're brave. The threat of mountain lions would have kept me from walking the distances that you had. I've enjoyed the way that You and Dave interact, and the love you share shows through. I had to Subscribe! The blow dryer was a good idea, it probably would have worked with more time at it. My suggestion to prevent the vent lid from sticking is to remove the screen, then from the inside, treat the perimeter of the lid (and also the base attached to the roof) with either a silicone lubricant or (my favorite) Lemon Pledge. I've had good success using Pledge for sticking refrigerator door gaskets, as well as car door gaskets. Your coach looks pretty new so I expect over time things like that will wear-in and become trouble free. I want to say though, that I think you two might do better in a Class A unit. Having had years of camping and road travel experience is what caused me to make that suggestion. The EKKO is a nice and expensive coach, but it seems better suited as a starter unit or intended for one person. Another suggestion that I have (because I do this) is to buy an extra lid for the roof vent as well as an extra outdoor section for any skylights on your coach. They become brittle with age. One day while working on the roof of my coach, I leaned on the skylight and my hand went right through it. It had become brittle, and it didn't take much pressure for it to break. But bear in mind even a tree limb can bust one when parking. The worst part about having extras of these is finding a place to store them. But when you suddenly need one, you'll be relieved that you have an extra that's ready to go in. And especially so if the one you need generally takes a couple/few weeks for it to be shipped. Thank you for making this nice video as I truly enjoyed it.

I just discovered your channel today with this being the first I watched.. I found you extremely brave to face this head on alone.. I was literally cheering you on. We have been binge watching it all day. I love that your relationship is smooth and you can tell you really love and respect each other. I also think you are about as cute of a person as I could hope to find in a most interesting genre. I've always planned to do this when I retire which is 1 more year.. I can't wait. I have a Winnie already and have had it for years but I'm planning to trade it for a 2 bedroom camper and buy a full sized truck or suv and pull it. I feel bad that everytime you two go wondering at your many stops you have to unhook and pack down everything. I don't want to travel constantly like you do but rather chase 70 degree weather. I lived in Minnesota the last 15 years and I've done my cold duty. I grew up in Phoenix so I've done my hot duty also. My plan is to moved maybe 3 times a year and to supplement income I'll sell at farmers markets and flea markets. We are having a blast watching Dave and you do the visiting. We are currently watching the Salem MA episode right now.. and omg was he ever naughty. You were already spooked.. Anyways, thank you for letting me into your life, your adventures and a ton of binge material.. Stay safe, stay warm and continue to be adventurous, brave and simply a joy to watch.. Cheryl

Nice job taking care of things. I sold my house and bought a 36’ Fleetwood Bounder and threw my 5 cats into it and took off by myself. It can be a bit scary by yourself as a single woman but it was very rewarding too. I’m older now and sold the RV after 17 years although I spent the last mainly in a RV Park. Having cats is important ❤. Enjoy your videos.

The little snow balls are called “Groppel”. As the water drop begins to form the speed in which it is falling smooths the edged. It’s like ball bearings on steep slopes prone to avalanches.

I have the sweetest wife in the world but it would be a cold day in hell before she would do what you did. Especially the part of setting up in the snow when there was no one else in the camp ground and knowing a heavy snow was heading that way. Ha! I love the "home" feeling of your RV.

Also tarp the front (back too) of your vehicle windows, pull it off and you don’t have to scrape the snow off Be sure to secure it down with heavy string so I don’t blow away.

Hi Tanya, RV dealers sell vent covers. Right now I don't remember the name. They are awesome. The cover allows the vent door to open and can leave open when raining/snowing. The cover has a vent opening .

When the vent sticks, begin to open it using your crank knob but don't apply too much upward pressure on the knob or it may break, then remove the vent screen and with a ruler or butter knife apply gentile upward pressure against the vent cover until it pops free. If you can't access the vent cover through the fan and screen assy with your knife or ruler, you can purchase 2 small rigid metal rods 1/4" diameter or smaller and about 12" long at a home depot or hardware store, then drill 2 small holes slightly larger than the rods you purchased in the extreme corners of the opening side of the vent. Take both rods and insert them in the holes you drilled and apply even upward pressure to each side of the vent cover simultaneously and that should pop it free allowing it to be opened. Keep in mind that it may be difficult to close the vent afterward, but if this happens remove the vent screen and clear any frozen debris that may have fallen into the vent seal area.

Wow girl, you are very brave. I'm impressed. How much snow is a lot? The worst snow I ever saw was when the drifts completely covered our trailer. It was precarious as we had little air so we couldn't use any fire. No furnace or stove as the propane fumes would suffocate us. 12 hours later we heard a vehicle, the snow plow. Great.

Girl! You need to get a Comfy! It’s, literally, a wearable blanket and it’s nothing like a Snuggie. I got one for Christmas and I wear it to walk the dog when it’s in the 30’s and I stay nice and warm. I also wear it in the rig when the heater’s not quite keeping up with the heating requirements. I love it! Google The Comfy and you’ll find it. I will never be without one again! Lol

As a fix kinda girl. Spray the blades with Pam cooking spray. Snow will slide off. It's an old trick we used on outside satellite dishes up North.
