Equalities Minister Kemi Badenoch has said she “will not shut up” after David Tennant suggested she should at the British LGBT Awards.
Ms Badenoch accused the ex-Doctor Who actor of being a “rich, lefty, white male celebrity so blinded by ideology” in a post to social media website X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday.
Tennant, who won Celebrity Ally at a ceremony on Friday, received cheers and applause when he said of the Conservative Cabinet minister: “I don’t wish ill of her, I just wish her to shut up.”

These channels are focusing on Tennant saying Kemi Badenoch should shut up. But surely the far more egregious thing he said was "until she doesn't exist anymore". That's far worse by a long shot. He then seemed to catch himself and added a disclaimer that he wished her no harm, but still, he's revealed his true wishes. These types often start off by presenting themselves as kind, caring, and compassionate, but then they lose all self-restraint by revealing their true nature which is far more hateful than whoever they're pointing their finger at. I don't care that he told her to shut up. So what? Publicly voicing his wish for somebody to no longer exist is the truly unhinged bit.

It might make some sense that as their entire career and life is based around pretending to be other people and memorizing scripts, then their thoughts and opinions are more likely to be memorized from other people's scripts too. I'm not speaking for all of them but you don't find too many of them engaged in deep thought and natural conversation on issues. It's all emotionally charged melodrama in the context of goodies and baddies, much like the scripts for their fictional characters. Obviously they're playing themselves as the hero, because that's what they do and what they know. They enjoy the adoration.

Our local surgery is open from 08:30 am until 18:30pm there are the same number of clinical staff as pre pandemic yet they just don't want to see you, if you are lucky to get an appointment the waiting rooms are empty.

I don't have a medical qualification but when I think something is wrong I want to see a Doctor not try and explain well enough to get past that wall. How disappointing of David Tennant. He was excellent as The Doctor, who incidentally would NEVER have passed that comment about anyone. A shame he's not more like his character. Actors should really stick to their jobs & stay out of politics

He said the ‘didn’t exist’ line and then realised what he’d just suggested. You can see it dawning on his face before he adds ‘l don’t wish ill of her (sic)’. Let me get this right. A couple of hospitals already use the system that Labour was to introduce nationally ...... so they plane to take the teams from those hospitals to take them round the country showing others how it works.
