I like the guitar descending lick at the introduction. Percy Granger wrote the original tune nearly a century ago and called it Lonondary Aire. Later it became a standard tune for Irish Tenors to sing as Danny Boy. It has always been a special tune. It was about a man who was singing to his son who was going off to war and the father was telling his boy that he loved him and would be waiting for him to return back home safely after the war. Vanessa is just extraordinary.

Nobody can dig into a song like Vanessa Bell Armstrong. I forgot Dottie Rambo wrote lyrics to "Danny Boy" or "Lonondary Air" I used to play Danny Boy in Jazz clubs back in the early 1960's but the spiritual lyrics of Dottie Rambo set that song apart from all others.

The first time I heard this song was on one of Jamie Foxx's comedy dvds when he sang part of the beginning, but Ms. Bell-Armstrong just tore up the first, middle, and last of this song.
