For people who are wondering in the CFL there is a rule that if you can't return a missed field goal out of the endzone the team that missed the kick gets 1 point. The team had to kick the ball out or they would lose 31-30.

@@j0hnw1ck28 in canadian football, if a kicking team misses a field goal but the ball goes out of the end zone, it's also a 1 point score. The defense was trying to kick it away, but the offense was trying to punt it out of play into the back of the endzone for the 1 point score.

No clue if you’ll even read this Troy, but the “Iron Bowl” game is between Alabama and Auburn. They’re the most extreme college football rivalry of them all probably. The hatred is unreal about football in Alabama. The score was 28-28 and Alabama went to kick the field goal, it was caught and taken back for a touchdown on the last play of the game so auburn won 34-28. That’s about as wild of an ending as football can have.

FOR THOSE WHO DONT UNDERSTAND THE FIRST CLIP first, its canadian football, so I dont blame you for not knowing. Second, the play happened because in Canadian football we have what is called a "rouge", or more commonly known as a single. A rouge is a score that is only worth 1 point. It can occur in 3 ways, but we only care about one. If a kicking team punts the ball OR misses a field goal, and the ball goes out of play out of the back of the endzone, the kicking team receives 1 point. That's why the ball was being kicked back and forth. One team was trying to score the rouge, the other trying to prevent it. The reason they kicked it out is because if they ran it out but got tackled in the end zone, it would also be a rouge. (3 ways, remember)

Troy there is a rule in football called a lateral where anybody can throw the ball backwards and it’s effective a fumble though most of the time it’s caught by somebody else. Upside is that anybody can throw the ball at anytime. Downside is that if they can’t control it the ball is a Fumble (watermelon) and can be a turnover for the other team and it can only be thrown backwards or else it is a penalty and the play doesn’t count
