17*4 > 20*2+13*2 aka 68 > 66. "2x PEN Tungrad earrings + 2x PEN Capotia rings aka 68 AP" is objectively better than "2x PEN Capotia earrings + 2x PEN Cresent rings aka 66 AP". Unless your going to tell me that the 8 DP from the Capotia earrings is somehow integral to early game progression or that there is some hidden cost to 4x free swaps. Its really simple, start with Tungrad swap to Cresent when you get the silver to buy your Distos (and then swap to Narcs when you replace your Cresents). Going for 2x Tungrads also gets you to 66 AP from rings and earrings faster than going for Cresents as you only need your second Tungrad to be TET to get to 66 AP. with a TET Cresent you will be getting 63 AP.

Because distortion earrings are essentially required mid game earrings for every class to get through AP brackets faster so you can grind. They also give extra accuracy which is great. Since distos exist, pen crescent becomes the go-to for every build until late game when you look at the narc.

@@bluesquadronlive crescents are better under the assumption that you have tet distos which you will get a while after completing both guaranteed pen quests if you are a very casual player. In the case that you are using full capotia, upgrading to tungrads will grant more ap than upgrading to crescents.
