It is so good to hear men addressing the trauma that they have experienced and how they dealt with it. Many times, men feel they have nowhere to turn or they're lesser of a man to discuss these type of issues. To hear that most men die in their tramua is staggering. Keep up the good fight, lives are being changed. Variability is our super power.

I agree with Ruslan about the growth of Eastern Orthodoxy. I used to be part of the Dursos church in NYC. Love them. But I converted to Eastern Orthodox because the standards do not change, and it makes you deal with your “stuff” and heal. I have found tremendous peace and healing because of the consistency.

I’m trying to understand the purpose of this interview if it wasn’t intended as an opportunity for Chris to address the real elephant in the room and perhaps demonstrate genuine repentance (or confession). I’m surprised that either (1) Ruslan failed to ask the critical questions regarding Chris’ historical leadership trajectory, or (2) Ruslan is unaware of this significant issue-if so, he needs to exercise greater diligence in vetting his interview guests for his KZbin channel. This felt like nothing more than Ruslan affirming everything Chris said with comments like, "I love that you said that..." None of what was said required Chris Durso to be the one to say it, let alone in a drawn-out, hour-long interview.

This seems like he’s covering something up. He’s been putting “his story” out there pretty quicklee. just like when he beat the parents to putting out a life update before they announced he was no longer on staff. when that life update was posted it was a lie. Chris was fired. He didn’t decide to leave. I’m sure he could have sued his parents. Good thing he didn@t! What a mess that would have been. If he did sue he would have looked bad publicly. Chris. You. We’re. Fired. “Facts are facts”.

Ruslan I’ve known Chris since the age of 13. He was always known to be a liar and manipulator. Then In our late teens early 20’s I thought he made a real positive change. But at the end of the day it felt to be all a facade. He’s the reason unfortunately many people left Christ Tab before it became the saints church. This is just a single sided narrative he pushed. Also from what I know he was removed by the church’s board.

Could the family schism be rooted in the feeling of failure of his parents to protect him and his anger towards his dad regarding this? Only time will be taken for the memories to heal and true forgiveness among the family will happen.
@gracerodriguez3248Ай бұрын
James 1:14 I remember being part of this congregation and not being able to blame anyone else for my actions. Yes, I was abused as a child by an adult and then later made choices. Abused by peers is a hard sell. When does one take responsibility for his own actions and it not be the end all of all things? You made bad choices. Now you finally can join the club and stop floating on that throne of clouds.

Such a common story emerging, and that's a tragedy. I'm glad you are both on the upside of these experiences. I sometimes ponder on whether men are the best gender to lead churches, I know it's not something that goes well with this religion, but there is continuing harm being done, it's not something just confined to history. A question I ask myself when I hear these stories. It's a position of respect and is being abused. Over and again. What can we do to prevent this?
@Yj-FjАй бұрын
After decades, Paul would still write about God’s plan on earth beginning with the human family unit, where the male leads as the head, and by extension as leaders of the group/s, communities/ societies/ countries. Only when eternity overwhelms the earth, will the equality has no meaning since there’s neither male nor female anymore.
@rpoeticАй бұрын
Are you implying that only men do this? I would retort if you ever worked in a female majority environment. It's literally the same but exhibits itself in different ways. Just because it looks different doesn't mean it's better. I have seen toxic woman in leadership in business and church. Just look at all the stories of female teachers overstepping. I have personally seen it and have multiple friends who experienced it in school. Honestly the culture consequences aren't as bad for women when they are caught either.

Whats SA?
@Shua01Ай бұрын
Your son is in my Prayers. And though there is no such thing as “gay Marriage,” I get that this is the term that many in same-sex relationships use to somehow validate their commitment, but it is a counterfeit. I’m not saying that their feelings towards one another are not teal, but it is not Marriage, nor will it ever be Marriage. But, God loves your son. And I can tell you love your son very much. Keep Praying for him. That he finds healing (if something was done to him in the past). And Pray for the individual who might have committed the transgression, as this individual might have also been abused. Not to excuse what had been done, but to free your son from what might have been done to him. Prayer changes us. It softens the heart. And God hears our Prayers; this we are assured, as we Pray, “Come Holy Spirit…”

Ppl turn to orthodox and Presbyterian churches because the focus is on Jesus’ story through liturgy constantly, and not with this seeker- sensitive therapy obsessed “my story” messaging. PTSD ? LOL How many tours of duty has Durso been in ? Has this pampered guy ever held a REAL job ? WTH is a full-time traveler? What formal theological training does he possess? Again, seek Jesus through liturgy, not personality.
@honurapanuiАй бұрын
I think it is not a matter of "either or". As some people need liturgy, other people run from reformed churches because it is all about liturgy and not about relationship. I think we need both.
