I agree with you Faith. Forgiveness is annoying. It's ok if the transgression is small, but the level of malice the mother and her daughters received at the hands of the husband was far too great. She was replaced by what was meant to be a better option and mistreated badly. It wasn't until the end the husband realised his choices were bad. And the mother in law showed terrible wisdom and treated her own blood grandchildren like they were pariahs. If we forgive these actions and malicious behaviours, then we permit evil to exist, and for people to harm others, without consequences.
