Honestly, the fact that _our_ Collector crossed out that last line and "corrected" it to be about making friends makes me think that he's actually, by virtue of being a free-spirited and friend-wanting child, the only _good_ Collector among the lot of them. He's just had some bad teachings from the others. Also, this is just my personal take, but given the revelation that there are other, _older_ Collectors out there, I think that the Collector who sealed the Owl Beast in the scroll is a _different_ one than _our_ Collector. The one in the Owl Beast's flashback was taller than ours, dressed differently, and was _much_ less playful.

@@TricksterNevermore Now that I think about it, The Collector didn't mention anything when they saw the owl beast in the episode. @@albanewest2361 You know, that's a _really_ good point too. Even if he didn't recognize the _harpy_ form, she presumably went full beast mode after the title drop, so it is pretty compelling that he didn't even make an offhand mention of it when talking about her to King later on. Very nice~ ^^
@TricksterNevermore Жыл бұрын
@A KZbin Account Indeed. While it's _possible_ that he can also take on the larger, cloak-like form (we sort of saw it when he was being released by King), he doesn't really seem the type to walk around and play like that, so I think it's much more likely that the one we saw before is a different one.

30:51, I think, with the Collector’s story being written using the personal pronoun “we” (“Collectors live long WE watch things pass”, etc.) I think the book is actually written in the perspective of the Collectors themselves. Collectors are essentially gods that collect creatures and seal them up so that they can be preserved forever, never being lost to time, which is what I believe happened to the owl beast that later became Eda’s curse. I believe the bit where they say “we will clean the planet and scorch the air” is what the Collectors themselves do if the native inhabitants of a planet interfere with what they are doing, wiping them out the second they start to fight back
@Janoha17 Жыл бұрын

Here's my theory about why the owl beast triggered again: So let's remember the episode where Eda gets her harpy mode for the first time (while chatting with the owl beast), in that episode, we not only see some flashbacks of Eda, but also the beast's. It was a regular "animal" flying and doing its own things, until that long mysterious figure turned it into a scroll and soon turned into Eda's curse. It's pretty obvious that the mysterious person is collector, but not one we know, it's been confirmed that there was at least three more collectors besides the one we know currently, these ones being a lot larger and longer than the one we're seeing (just like the collector of that episode), and considering our collector is the opposite of long and large, we can assume one of the other three collectors was the one who turned the beast into a curse. And the reason on why the owl beast got triggered again, was because it saw our collector, it probably held a grudge after being turned into a scroll and merging with a girl, so once it saw something awfully similar (almost identical) to the same being who trapped it in the first place, it snapped. So this is basically my theory
@cletusbeauregard1972 Жыл бұрын
To back your point up further, Eda's curse really shifted into overdrive when King released The Collector in King's Tide. She was burning away so fast that Raine pulled Eda's forearm off to save her.

The Collectors started the Titan Trappers since the Titans countered them in a direct match, which included having them disguise themselves as Titan children to lower their defenses (and granted their leaders immortality so they could keep up the hunt indefinitely).

Something I've noticed that hasn't been addressed in any reactions or reviews, in the tapestry where the older Collectors are pointing down at the young Collector we see four adult collectors, but in the tapestry where they are blighting the planet *so responsible for the Boiling seas and rain and other things like painbrows most likey* and little collector looks to be trying to stop them...there are only 3 adult collectors, so theory in the conflict the Titans actually managed to kill one Collector, and the collectors went total grim genocide including having their minions wear the skulls of young titans.

I think is more likely the tablets were written by the collectors, when they say "but should they meddle in our affairs" with "they" the collectors are referencing the previous phrase "seal THEM up, so THEY may never fade", meaning the creatures of the planet. The phrase is "Seal them up so they may never fade. but should they meddle in our affairs ecc..." that's probably why the collectors got in war with the Titans, being the Titans capable of contrasting them they got in their affairs, but not being able to kill them directly the collectors hired the Titan Trappers

30:38 I previously also thought this but I think its wrong. “ *Collectors* live long, *we* watch things pass” the use of “we” after “collectors” indicates that this is written in the Collectors’ point of view. So when it says “but should they meddle in *our* affairs” is also in the collectors point of view. “Should others meddle in the colectors’ affairs we will clean the planet and scorch the air”. From the beginning of the poem, “to preserve, to observe, we must amass (*accumulate)” it is most likely that a collectors job is to look over a planet and make sure nothing about it is forgotten by preserving and *collecting* everything that is in it “seal them up *so that they never fade* ” In the murals of the palace we can figure out a timeline: we see 3 grown up collectors looking over a planet (that doesn’t look like earth I should point out, so maybe that confirms that the boiling isles and earth are actually separate planets) with a smaller one Enzo (Im going to call our collector that so that theres no confusion between the grown ups and because thats his name in Brazil), our collector. We see them joining with the titan culture, a titan fighting another bigger skeletal version of themselves. Maybe the titan the boiling isles are made of? Then we see the collectors giving Enzo to play with the baby titans, probably the reason why he was so quick to like King. Then its blurry but we can see the collectors burning the planet. I think something happened that the titans didn’t want the collectors messing with their planet anymore and that resulted in them killing all of the titans “if you meddle in our affairs we will clean the planet and scorch the air” We don’t know how Enzo got imprisoned, maybe the lasting titans, maybe even King’s father imprisoned him before he was erased. We don’t know for sure. Also I think the way Enzo turns the people into “toys” is actually the way collectors preserve things. Anyways, that’s what I have.

31:11 It was my understanding that this book was written by the Collectors, godlike beings that observe and curate. And if mortals should ever mess with their work, they'll wipe them out. When it comes to the collectors book, I think the book was written by the collectors race. It essentially says that collectors have been around for a long time (possibly eons) basically collecting different forms of life (possibly forms of life that they find interesting) and preserving them so that they don’t die. And then they say that if these life forms get in the way of whatever plan they have, they’ll kill everything and everyone on the planet, scorch the atmosphere, and either reset or move on. And it seems like our collector doesn’t like the way the other collectors do things (whether or not it’s because he’s a kid and has a better sense of right and wrong or because his morals are in check, idk). He just wants to have fun and play games, but he doesn’t truly know how strong he is.

The collectors are a species of celestial deities, which seem to have formed after the Big Bang/some major explosive event. They imprisoned and turned creatures they found into all sorts of collectables, the most notable ones being scrolls, which is why the Owl Beast overtook Eda mid flight. The collectors were heartless and willing to destroy anything and everything that gets in the way of their collecting. It was their purpose so stepping in their way probably was viewed more so like a rat eating your grain then a real war. While titans have powerful magic, I’m more so compelled to believe that his family retreated, leaving behind The Collector to work with witch-kind to slowly hunt down and kill of all the remaining titans. The Collector is just a kid who doesn’t understand what and why things are the way they are, just like King. All he knows is that he always wanted friends and Titans were most likely the closest thing he seemingly ever had.

I just wanna point out sth I haven't seen anyone mention this so here I think the reason why Eda's curse acted up when trying to face the collector is because the owl beast recognized them Remember in the dream eda had the collector is the one who captured the owl beast and turns them into a curse So it makes sense it would take over at that moment

Even after all of this, I still feel sorry for the Collector. He literally doesn't know any better and King is the only real friend he's had since he was trapped. King is the only one who understands that Collector has no malicious intent and tries to explain that what he's doing is wrong. Everyone else just threatens or and attacks him on sight, so of course he's going to fight back. I hope at some point he loses his godlike powers and gets to grow up as normal human or witch.

When the storybook about the collectors showed up they IMMEDIATELY made me think of the Reapers from the Mass Effect trilogy. Collecting/harvesting entire civilizations and planets in the name of "preserving" them, and basically doing the scorched earth tactic across the entire planet if the inhabitants resist their fate 😬 I'm so eager to see how much the Collector can be appealed to, because he very clearly hates the idea of wiping everyone out. I'm also curious if there will be more of them showing up, or maybe if he's the last of his kind just like King.....I'd cry if that were true I think lmao Edit: I loved seeing everybody be hopeful that Belos would possess Odalia instead of Raine. XD The crew knew that nobody would give a single fuck what happened to her or her body if she was the one possessed, so they had to get somebody they knew we'd all worry about. Absolutely diabolical I love them

He chose rain because of tactical advantage of not decayable body, and that he's a friend of the team so they won't attack him with killing intent

I believe the Collectors wrote that book for the young Collectors to learn there ways. The for example the book says “Collectors live long, “We” watch things pass”. And the part about scorching the air is saying they have to kill anyone who messes with their plans. Also it’s crazy now we know what killed the titans and maybe some titans killed Collectors. It’s now important to know the Collector we know doesn’t want to scorch the air, but he just wants friends.

Two things I'm wondering after this: is The Collector in his species' version of "time out" because he thinks burning whole planets to ash is bad? The other thing is, was that display in the Titan Trappers' hall a true depiction of how big Titans can get? Because one of them was bigger than planets.

the tablet that king reads uses the word "We" while talking about what collectors do, so it is written by the collectors. that last bit is saying that if people try to stop the collectors from collecting they will destroy everything as revenge.

Other way around from what I understand, if the planet meddles in the collector’s affairs they will scorch the air and game end everyone but it would appear that our collector just wants to play and have friends

This episode was truly wonderful! This would special have the vibes of a mid-season finale. Possibly this could been season 4. One... More... Episode... I didn’t expect this series come to a close this soon, but we’ll have to see if Belos is gonna die forever by an explosion, and if The Collector will be redeemed.

Also about Oh Geeez and Meelz, YOU'RE SO RIGHT I LOVE THEM BOTH. I loved Hopes and Horrors, especially A Message From Our Sponsor, but overall, I loved Breathe, Take Me Somewhere New, Losers Like, Break For it, and Real Thing, all from Oh Geeez. Whereas Meelz, More Than Friends is amazing, as well as Bad Girl Coven, Just Friends, Betas, Cool Anime Powers, Us Weirdos Have to Stick Together, and Weight of the World. All absolute bangers

My girl is back!!! Also this was a very good episode, ugh- screw iTunes for leaking this. Some scenes were spoiled on me because of the leaks that I tried to ignore them. But still, this episode has made Belos more a great villain than he already is and the Collector is just absolutely enjoyable and precious in this!!!

10:55 The timeline isnt very clear at all, but its said the Boiling Isles Titan, King's dad, sealed him away while he was still alive, which had to be such a long time ago. and also The Collector was definitely sealed up during Philip's time because Philip/Belos was already looking for them in Elsewhere and Elsewhen. So, they were trapped for atleast a few hundred years minimum.. Poor kid. :(
@forgbeloathed Жыл бұрын
and having to spend a few hundred years in solitude, save for Belos/Philip? god that sounds genuinely horrible. this kid is a victim i feel for him

The book King was reading was definitely written by Collectors, not Titans, as the word "we" is used when talking about Collectors, implying the writer is one. The scorch the earth and clean the air bit is saying that if a planets inhabitants interrupt their collecting process, they’ll just destroy the planet basically. Our collector apparently doesn’t agree with the others doing that which is why he scribbled it out and wrote his own bit about making friends instead (I’m not finished watching the video yet, so idk if it’s pointed out or not, but the background portraits imply that our Collector made friends with Titans and it was the others who wiped them out)

A weird question just came to mind. What exactly is Belos’s goop? Like, I was kinda thinking it was some plant-like stuff at first since he eats palisman which are carved from wood, but the way he possessed that corpse made me realize that it could also totally be his skin. So yeah, WHAT IS THAT GOOP MADE OUT OF?! I need to know...

I forgot where the code came from but in s1 they mentioned that Eda’s curse was a curse of feathers and Belos’ was a curse of mud. Maybe they mean like how the decomposed matter as literally become like fertilizer in a way. One thing to also notice is how it dissolves and narcotizes flesh and skin until it falls off the bone (it killed so many animals in the human world :( ). It sort of did the same for Hunter, it was literally bubbling out from his cut skin after he poked at it. Almost like it replaced his blood. So it also functions like blood in a way too
