The nether king never died, he is able to withstand being beheaded but he was extremely injured. So some mages/artisans remade his body/bones into nether it’s so he is stronger when he is strong enough

@@edmole the nether king is practically invincible, the only way t9 ge5 rid of him entirely is to completely destroy everything. The netherite is there to stop him from being injured again.
