If Dark, or anyone else for that matter, could play with this speed, and combine it with the smart decision making, efficiency and consistency of a top pro, I feel like that would almost be like the highest peak of Rocket League gameplay. I'm not sure if that's even humanly possible, but goes to show that there's still an entire unexplored level in the RL skill pyramid.

@@lastdimensions638 it does. You didn't consider opponent. He was close. Dark flips instantly onto the wall to make sure he is faster and beats him even if he gets challenged, plus for a chance to catch him off guard by being faster than he is prepared for. Dark was so close to the wall though that he didn't have time to do full flip so he did only half and resulted backwards. It did not stop him from attempting air dribble, though he failed the setup touch a bit. It could be almost as good as doing it forward. It was a recovery

I have no illusions that I'm anywhere near Dark in terms of mechanical skills (GC here) but there were surprisingly quite a few moments in this video where I was wondering why he was making certain decisions. He's an amazing player but makes some questionable decisions when approaching or attacking the ball. Could still easily beat my shit in any day.
@Ranark_11 ай бұрын
It's the cost for playing like that. The amount of "adrenaline" and momentum u get from playing like this is out of control sometimes. I think these type of error come when you don't really "tryhard" or play seriously tho.

@devshankarnair634411 ай бұрын
I don't agree with you as there is so much depth in pro 1v1 but dark being such an unorthodox player really makes him fun to watch.
@TriToothbrush11 ай бұрын
We can all agree that watching Dark is fun, but to say that he is doing it to “test the limit” and that he’ll be “unstoppable once he’s done with his experiment” is complete hopium from Feer viewers. He’s not an 11yo. He could’ve already been competing in the rlcs even prior to the age limit reduction, or at least in top 1v1 scene. But he’s clearly not interested in either, and i’m pretty sure he’s enjoying/playing other games more than rl. This “speed experiment” is just him having fun, and not a regime to improve himself at all. If anything, his level has dropped significantly compared to his peak, and it’s total copium to claim that he or this gameplay is the future of rl.
@zap904411 ай бұрын
I agree with pretty much everything you said, but I don't think it's hopium to think that his gameplay could be the future of RL. The way I see it is that High-level Comp Clip Hitting (which is basically what Dark does) is the "final test" for freestyle mechanics before being implemented in top-level gameplay. If you think of the zap-dash, it started off as the horse dash in freestyling and was finally popularized by Azapatos (who is somewhat of a CCH). Pogos started off in freestyling and got popularized by Dark himself. And even recently, Joyo's CCH highlights have been filled with maktuf resets, and he even scored one in an RLCS match. I think that Dark is just the frontman for this type of gameplay, so I don't think it's far-fetched to say that parts of his gameplay could be utilized at the highest level.
@TriToothbrush11 ай бұрын
@@zap9044 Imo I don't think even that is true. I'd say players who are already showcasing the advantages of dashes in their top-level games (azapatos ayyjayy mawkzy) are showing the future, I don't think Dark is showing the future at all. (Especially when he is just dashing while already supersonic and while using 70/100 boost he just picked up from the corner to go to mid boost again while his opponent is walking the ball into his net)
@thrpotatoasfgfejfidieiidkr707111 ай бұрын
Agreed. People keep saying "one he perfects this playstyle" he'll be the best when he would probably be even better if he didnt dash so much
@zap904411 ай бұрын
@@TriToothbrush I don't mean dark is literally the future of RL. Advanced dashes wouldn't exist without freestylers limit testing. Dark does the same thing but in ssl, that's the only difference. I think he is just a proof of concept that it "might" work. Like 95% of the time he is doing something useless, but the 5% should be looked at.
