The reason the person commented that there was an incorrect use of the apostrophe was because usually you'd use an apostrophe to connect two words. For example: you+would=you'd, it+is=it's. The apostrophe takes the place of the letters that have been removed, this is why it is placed there. The word you used was let's which has an apostrophe, therefore stands for 'let us' this would sound a bit weird, so it would make more sense to just not have it. I hope this helps you and others who have trouble understanding these concepts. :) It's easy to be mean to people and correct their grammar, however, that's not going to fix the issue at hand. It's just going to make them feel worse and not teach them anything, resulting in them making the same mistakes. If you are so bothered to correct them, then you should put that same effort into making sure these people understand so that they don't have to be corrected again and can therefore teach others the same.
