You fool the clay thing with water and put it near your plants and it keeps them watered.

Jamie, those little frog type thingamahoobies are for ensuring your plants stay watered. You put the spikey end in the plant pot and fill the mouth end with water and the water is gradually absorbed by the soil, and you will know when to water your plants again as the little frog will be empty.

Soak them in water before you put them in the pot & fill. They are terracotta & will soak up all the water you are trying to give to your plant if you don't soak first.

Sherpa really perked up once you guys were able to go for your walk and he could chase his treaties. His voice sounded better today. He really does get excited to see Larry. The funny looking stakes look like water holders for large potted plants. Just shove them near the root stalk one per plant and fill them up with water. They look like clay stakes; if so, the water will seep through the clay and provide a continuous path of water to the plant. If it’s plastic, the water will pass through a hole at the bottom of the stake. Before you refill check the plant for over-watering (yellowing or soggy soil) or under-watering (leaves drooping and dry soil). Then you’ll know how to regulate the water. I hope this helps you. Give Sherpie a double-handed coat fluff for me, please. I don’t think that will work on you, young man, so Pat yourself on the back and know it’s from me. I want to end with a little prayer for you and Sherpa, Sister Sarah, Granny and her fur baby. I know I’m forgetting some people but that happens when you are my age. the terracotta objects are self watering for pot plants. fill with tap water, 'plant' into the pot and keep topped up with water which will difuse into the earth in the pot keeping it moist

Perhaps you could make an A-frame shelter for Sherpa using one side of the out house and some of the roof panels. It doesn't need to be very large - just big enough for Sherpa to lie down in and stand up in to walk out.

Jamie, you overlooked what they are! It said right on the box SELF PLANT WATERERS. You stick the end in your plant's pot and feel the frog's mouth with water and it will take care of the watering for quite a while.

Jaimie, the Terracotta stakes are great, especially when you go away on holiday. You put the stake in your potted plants. Fill the stake with water. It will slowly release the water into the plant through the terracotta.
