The extender is a mechanic for shields that was implemented incorrectly. It's meant to increase your melee range while charging, but since your charge ends as soon you swing it doesn't work. Someone discovered that you actually CAN get the extender by swinging _before_ charging.

10:30 The extender is a mechanic that's meant to increase your melee attack range while charging, however normally when you attempt a melee attack it cancels your charge, thus making the extender useless. Solarlight get's around this by starting the melee attack before starting the charge. This has the upside of extended swing range, and if the extended swing is a kill you can continue charging, giving you either an easy escape or an opportunity to go for someone else. The downside is that the target has to be a certain distance away and you won't be able to take advantage of the crit gained after a full charge.

14:13 I think the map was koth_product_rcx, I am unsure if that is the specific version though. A community made variant of koth_viaduct tailored for the competetive community. Maps such as cp_process_final and cp_steel also has continually updated community variants for the competetive scene, but those those changes are only really has an effect on that high level of play.

So about the flying Demoknight and the "bugs" Solarlight is a master of Trimping which basically means that even the slightest ramp and Demoknight goes flying The extender is one of few bugs covered by Solarlight along with the infinite charge.

Imagine demoknights in 2014. The tide turner just came out and it fully recharged on a charge kill, dealt full crits instead of mini-crits, and taking damage while charging didn't decrease remaining charge time like it does now. It was almost literally the chargin-targe and the booties in one weapon. There was no reason to play full demoknight instead of hybrid knight. It was TERRIFYING!!!

The habib guy you could see when youtubers played against pros is considered one of the best if not the best demo in tf2. He used to be in b4nny's team named FROYO for a long time. Now FROYO isn't very strong team imo, cuz there's like only b4nny and highly advanced players. And i think that Lazy purple actually mains medic. Also the map that looks like viaduct is named product and it's basically better version of viaduct (weakened sniper sightlines) used in comp.

Just so you know, "rare high moment" isn't meant to refer to the random crit itself, so the assessment that "they're not rare" is missing the point a bit. The point (according to Valve, I do not agree with this philosophy, I'm just explaining the developer commentary quote) is that random crits are supposed to turn already-good killstreaks into amazing, adrenaline-boosting, dopamine-spiking killstreaks, by arbitrarily increasing how many kills you're getting, as you continue to get more kills. Higher highs, and lower lows. A common misconception is that they're meant to help new players get kills, but this is strictly untrue.
