Someone gave the gift of life by giving the kit. Send the man a golden ticket!

His story is beyond real. The adrenaline, as he’s describing everything is truth. Once a person is in a scenario like this…you want your tourniquet out of the package and ready when needed. God bless this man, his friend, and Medical Refuge. Knowing the people are alive…to God Almighty all the Glory!!!🎉

It's so true, when that adrenaline kicks in, it's important to stay calm, breath, and it helps to have your gear staged!

I’m redoing my 72 hour back packs for the family…really they are bare minimum but it’s what I have and what I can do right now!!!! Making adjustments for the winter…sizes food allergies etc!!!! So much work but so engaged to do it. I want all the AMAZING Refuge kits but have to pay down debt so until then, use what I have! Keep learning and keep going!!!!! Thanks for the encouragement!

That is awesome! Do what you can with where you are at. There are tons of simple things we can all do to be more prepared, even with things we have around the house.

The wreck I was in years ago placed a strange amount of strength in me. I was the one who was injured. Some friends who were about 2 miles away, heard the wreck. When they arrived to the scene, they said I was already trying to find help. It took both of them to to hold me down when the Dr arrived right after they had, to do on the scene care. They told later that they had kneel down onto my shoulders and legs so the Dr could give me something to calm me down. I was shocked that they had to go to that extreme since both guys were weight lifters and huge in my opinion.

That is crazy, but just goes to show how much adrenaline can change a situation.

I had to pressure wrap my roommates thumb, when he cut the til off on a circular saw. You're not really prepared, until it happens to you. Then, you're REALLY prepared. I've stopped & assisted in 3 highway accidents in my life. I'm over 60 & fortunate.

Wow. I actually got a notification. I had to hit "Watch later", but a notification none the less. Good story, you're right, you never know when "it" might happen to you.

Get training. Have at least a tourniquet and gauze. Get training. He said that repeatedly because he was there. Webinar is great. And Instructional. Amen. Awesome first hand experience! Plus training to help with the initial shock and repetition so it becomes an automatic response. Thank you both! Blessings!

Oh taking another self defense class…and oddly enough I can’t do medical, huge scrapes or injuries BUT I have found I am very calm and level headed in emergencies can direct and get stuff DONE!!!! And when push comes to shove if it’s JUST me there I CAN DO IT! I might pass out and throw up hours later after the incident …

I know how he felt after the event. I always thought I had to do what has to been done and then I could throw up, pass out or whatever. Then I took Responder 1&2 this year and had the stress inoculation scenario based training and drill. I highly recommend taking it.
