Idk if theory is right or wrong but in Sam Raimi's trilogy it was proved that he's not bad person even he tried to be hero during goblin's interrogation where he ask about person who takes Spidey pics but J clearly says he don't know . Consequences could have been hostile for him but he tried to protect Peter
