What happened to the soul of HipHop is the same thing that happened to the soul of the Nation - the systematic targeting and disappearance of The Middle Class. We still have small indies and we still have big conglomerates, but we don’t have great Mid Tier labels with legendary rosters like Rawkus, Loud, Priority anymore. Koch was the last mohican. And we don’t have lots of successful Mid Tier artists like we use to - Curren$y, Big KRIT, Wale, Blu and Exile, Slum Village, Gangstarr, Black Star, Jurassic 5, Dead Prez, Beanie Sigel. Artists that don’t drop a hit everytime, but they always come with HIGH quality material, and a lot of it with some substance. And, they occasionally would drop a hit. Tainted. What’s Golden. Mass Appeal (Videogame soundtrack staple!). It’s Bigger than HipHop. DEFinition. Ms Fat Booty. More and more it becomes the haves and have nots. In society and in music. Nowadays there’s only a handful that can cut through… LaRussell, Symba, but they are not nearly as big or recognized as what a Mid Tier artist was from like 94 - 2004. They not like AZ, Mobb Deep, MOP, Hieroglyphics, Twista, Tech N9ne, Goodie Mobb / Cee Lo. Mixtapes and Blogs essentially being dead doesn’t help either. At all.

It's always a trip to see these 1990s industry figures tip toe around the P Diddler story 😂😂😂. Rifking, allegedly, wasnt at the parties, but Puffy was at his weeding. And then, he tries to elicit sympathy for Diddler by talking about "the man has daughters." So disingenous. I'm sure people like Cassie have parents to, who had to watch her get kicked and dragged across a floor on-video. The selective politicking by these music execs is wild. Wouldn't be shocked if Rifkind has some "weird cases" from the '90s that no one ever cared to examine.

Im from the west coast and i love drake losing and making himself look like a complete buffoon 😂 BUT drake is a fool for even going up against the program, nobody is bigger than the program. No one gang/mafia member has came out and said "we are going to do this now!" Even if people agree with you theyre not going to back you in it. So drake was foolish to even bring up ung with thats said HE is the biggest beneficiary. HE got the biggest/best numbers. Hes the bottom B***** that has been getting taken cared of the most. Him "exposing" umg is only going to expose him futher and tbh thats what i think the icing on the cake will be 😂 kendrick did severe damage to him already. It would have been best if he stayed quiet and dropped a really good album with good production. But by underestimating kendrick he did damage only to himself lmfao
