Have said for a long time Mark Tibbs would have been a perfect trainer for AJ, how no one in AJ’s corner was waking Joshua up to basic boxing fundamentals and the errors he was making I’ll never know!

Well, if you know AJ you know that if he gets caught he's done. So the first round knockdown may as well have been the final knockdown. The remaining 4 rounds are zombie AJ. But Mark is right that Dubois's jab did him in (of course it was not only the jab, Dubois was doing many other things as well, attacking from the opening bell with a speed and strength that overwhelmed AJ - Don Charles clearly watched AJ-Ruiz 1 very carefully). He did not have an answer for it, and whatever gameplan he had crumbled. One interesting tactic Dubois employed was how he blocked AJ's clinches with an arm against his throat, not allowing AJ to rest. AJ was all out of avenues.
@billdoor3140Ай бұрын
That's actually not true. He's been caught many times and recovered. Whyte caught him big klitschko caught him big. Takham caught him big But that shot Doubois landed was a monster. It was AJs shockingly poor defence and his inability to change it that cost him
@tylermoore4429Ай бұрын
@@billdoor3140 That was a long time ago. And Whyte and Klitschko gave him time to recover, Don Charles and Dubois know that very well and closed off that possibility.

@allangreenley9901 the only thing people need a break from is yappy non boxing people like you lad. The issue was the defence. That shot in Rd 1 nearly took his head off. It was inch perfect on the chin. Why do people like you think EVERYONE who's actually boxed is saying the same thing? But people like you and the O.P who's never been in the ring know better? It was NOTHING to do with "recovery" and everything to do with having his hands down and chin high. So YOU give it a rest

Hands up, chin on shoulder when jabbing. AJ just made big mistakes, he shouldn't retire at all, this lost my be good for him. Fix the problems and win the rematch.

A.J made very simple mistakes in the fight chin up hands down don’t matter who was in that ring eny one would have gone down but over thinking allso is a huge factor for AJ when really he just needed to throw hands

"He should know better than to try throwing an uppercut". Unfortunately AJ had been instructed "to roll the dice" and to concentrate on trying the uppercut about a minute before it happened by his corner. Imo it was one of the most reckless and disgraceful instructions from a corner I've ever heard.

Even Frank Warren said who ever gets the other fight on the back foot will win ! From the very first few seconds DD pressed the fight and AJ just threw a few tentative jabs !

Joshua is all about looking the part but not being the part and yet he calls himself a "warrior". His footwork was poor and he looked stiff and un-coordinated like a rank novice. Back to the "Academy" to work on the basics!

Joshua's defence was so much better before, now he's looking crap under Ben, and i though Ben was the next best things. Just basic amateurish errors, amateurish corner advice, it seems (hearing the so called experts and trainers giving their 2 cent)

The Jab didn't beat Joshua- his Ego did ! Ask your self a honest question , Does Dubois float a Butterfly and sting like a bee or does he try and pull both wings off and shove you head first under a foreman grill! You beat Bubba Gump at range, you counter, you take him into the second half of the fight- and you box his ears off ! ...
