In this video, Trey used his drone to drop the alligator bait on the big gator in a lake he's been to 2 previous times. This gator has been very difficult to catch but today he slipped up!
YES using the drone is legal. Please see the below verbiage from FWC:
"Can I use a Drone to Hunt Alligators?"
"Drones are considered aircraft under federal law and are subject to federal regulations including air space restrictions. The use of drones is not prohibited on most WMAs unless prohibited by federal law. However, drones may not be used to take or attempt to take game animals or crows or used to herd or drive them. Additionally, drone operators should check with the cooperating landowner of a WMA to be aware of any additional restrictions they may impose.
So, The Answer On The Drone
Issue Is That They Are Permitted To Use Them To Drop A Snatch Hook. They. Cannot Have A Baited Hook, But They Can Use A Baited Peg, They Typically Use It To Drop A Snatch Hook, But It Must Be Attached To A Boat Or Handheld Pole
Certain Wma's Do Not Permit The Use Of Drones So They
Would Have To Be Aware Of Where They Are Trying To Use Them And If They Are Permitted There."
