I've actually found these people to be the most upfront and genuine out there. They would give you their shirt off their back to help you. Then again if you cross them and say the wrong thing you're screwed.

Yea, definitely felt welcomed to be honest and there was a sense of community which is lacking in many areas, but yea not very predictable

Don’t know if a similar term exists in English, but there is a quote in German which fits your behaviour: wie man es in den Wald hineinschreit, so schallt es wieder heraus“ not by word but by Sense translated: people are mostly not bad or good in general. Mostly good vibes are making the others showing their best side. If you treat people who are ignored with respect you can see their true soul. Yes there are genuine bad people. They give a f how you treat them. But I recognised that instead of looking away or looking bad into their direction it is nice how they react if you just greet the gang of supposedly „bad“ people. They are mostly happy to be treated good from the ones who behaving mostly like they are better humans. They way you interact with people, respectful but not loosing your self esteem is genius.

I don't see anything here but poor, disenfranchised people who have been used by the government and abandoned in various shitholes around Australia. Hardly Disneyland, no matter what you compare it to. Props to the guy who got his life on track after prison. The truth is, most of the people who hang like this in areas like (Melbourne from my perspective) Footscray, St Albans, Sunshine etc are losers and choose to remain losers. The Sudanese guys are still settling in and some are traumatized, but most of these dudes just cant be fucked living life. It's sad as fuck. The 'rapper' really made me sad. Like, really sad.
