My son at the age of 15...dove in our pond & broke his c6 & c7 ...it's a major life changer...We also had a 3 yr.old & a 1yr. old....My son severed his spinal cord in half...he has no small motor skills...& He will never walk...but he drives a van...have trained a dog for himself...lives on his own...we are so proud of him...My heart goes out to you & your family...Bless you

Dawson approximately 40 or 45 year’s ago my cousin was a captain in the Air Force And was teaching a student to fly a T 38 I believe and his Engines on his airplane quit. He told the student to bail out he tried to start the engines one more time they wouldn’t start and he bailed out he said he looked down because since the student bailed out first he should be able to see him and he didn’t see him he looked up and saw the student and his chute had not opened. he tried to open his reserve chute and it didn’t open. By saving grace he landed in the swamp which cushion his landing. He is now 82 years old and still in a wheelchair from the waist down but he is alive he is spent all these years in a wheelchair. What I’m trying to say is there’s hope for you no matter what God decides for you to do my cousin is a fantastic man and has lived a great life so you can do whatever God has planned for you to finish. I hope you understand what I’m saying my words don’t always come out right. Praying for you.

What an honor to get to meet Dawson!! I've prayed for him since you told us right after this accident. He's such a remarkable young man! So many people that have been through this, would never be able to have such a wonderful attitude. I don't know how any human much less someone that young has such an understanding of their importance purpose and role in life. I don't think he will understand the lessons he's teaching. Bless his heart. My son was in a car accident in 2007 at the age of 37. Single car in the country roads of central California. He broke his neck at C4/C5 and considered incomplete. He’s in a power chair and was able to regain most of his arms and hand usage, although not all. I’m amazed how Dawson can do what he’s doing and being able to travel this soon.

What an honor to meet this young man. His truthfulness and honesty. His accident is usually fatal…called a hangman’s fracture. So grateful you made it to Craig’s Hospital in Denver. Amazing place. I’m an RN. Have visited Craig Hospital to see friends that have been there. Rehab area is amazing. Miracles do happen Dawson. Never give up your faith in God. What an "Amazing Man", so Thankful for all the help & Support to give him another chance at his life. Goals are sometimes a Huge Blessing & was givin to us for a special reason!! Dawson, you are Amazing & God had this special mission picked out just for you!! I am from Michigan, We had a young man that went thru about the same thing except if I remember right his was a car accident. His parents were told their son was ready to go home & to get a special place made for him also. So They hired a guy to redo their basement & have it ready in a few weeks to bring home their son. They paid the guy right away for his work & he went right to it. Tore down walls, pulled carpet, took out doors..ect on the first day or so he was there. Never to return again!! The biggest mistake they made, they already paid him up front. The community found out what happened & their son was to be discharged in about a week & his room was in shatters!! So the community got together to re do the whole thing. God Blesses us in so many different ways with his good graces & we never know when he will choose us for one of HIS "Special Missions" he needs done. It’s really nice to meet you, Dawson, and listen to your testimony. I was born with my spinal cord birth defect and I use a manual wheelchair to get around. I’ve met several people throughout my life who lived through spinal cord injuries like yours and I have say how much I look up to you guys! Like you I know what it’s like to be disabled but our journeys have been very different. I’ve never known what it’s like to walk unaided. This has been my body since the beginning. Don’t let people tell you that our lives are the same because I have never known any different from what I was born with. I’m so glad that God has guided you and continues to guide you through your journey and I just know there’s so much more to come for you. Take care of yourself and just keep rolling! God Bless!

What an awesome young man Dawson is, I am so happy to see him doing so well. I too ran from God and my mother who tried to force religion on me and my 6 siblings. For many years I didn't go to church, didn't pray, I lived a very selfish life. I then moved from Ireland to America and was so overwhelmed with the differences that I needed to find something familiar I could turn to and I turned to God and church and prayer and have never looked back. I've spent the rest of my life helping others in whatever way I can. God is good, ever present, ever loving and ever forgiving.
