He Wanted a SHORT French Crop Haircut (Haircut Transformation)

George came in with the desire for a French cut. He exclaims a few times at the end saying how much he likes it. I believe the looks he was giving throughout the cut was a look of someone wanting to see how it is cut, I do the same thing. I am a retired hairdresser. Ultimately you have to give them what they want. Dan looks at the face shape and hair type and knows what method will do what. The same cut will look totally different on another person. How it fell in front i.e. the lay of the hair the way it slightly puffs up isn’t something you would know prior to the cut. I too would have gone in as Dan did and thin, chunk it etc. after that then it is what it is. At the end of the day you do your very best mixed with what client is asking for and hope for the best. He was quite happy as that is what he wanted. He looks great in my opinion. When the clients come in and sit in Dan’s chair perhaps I do like the style they are currently wearing, but we as the viewer need to realize they are coming in to get something different. Dan delivered once again!

I’ve got a very similar neckline and it frustrates me so much haha, I cut my own hair most of the time but even when I get it cut by someone else it just always looks messy. Most barbers I’ve been too just buzz it all off or cut into it to make it disappear I guess, but it grows out within days and ends up looking sooo bad. Dan did a great job here, keeping it natural and “simply“ cleaning it up!

I think the most important thing to remember is that any hair style or cut has to be manageable by its wearer as he/she is comfortable with. And I believe the length allows George to style it out of his face, too, if he so wishes. Another great job, Dan! ❤

This haircut looked technically challenging. I'm fascinated by the whole process espeically establishing a 'guide' at the beginning and then tieing in the rest of the haircut to it. I wish my local barbers, and even hairdressers for that matter, took as much care and attention! None of them work from a guide at all and just 'eyeball' what looks good.

I have to admit it was a bit painful seeing his great wavy hair chopped off into a French crop. French crop is hard to pull off well without certain facial features especially with his rugged face. Most people don't look good in them but the people who do pull them off look great and the issue is people see some model on IG with them and then think thats what they will look like. He went in there because he was sick of his longer hair but he could have had the exact same haircut but have Dan just to a very short scissor cut taking off a lot of length.

I once had a cut in Angers, at a quite fancy salon, and sat on a low chair, and the woman who cut my hair held scissors in both hands (like Edward Scisorhands) and only used a comb at the finish. It was a great cut. I was going to a wedding. What in the world was a scissor in both hands method about!? Your videos are great. Best that I’ve seen in my experience.

24:29 i really liked this style before Dan pushed it forward aswell! Good cut once again by Dan. With that hair he had i would'nt dream of cutting it this short but switching it up can be good i gues. Mine grows in a certain way i can never achieve a look like that. Mine looks shit 2 min after styling and after 1 night of sleep it just becomes like this mess with hairs sticking out everywhere which forces me to wash it out again... real annoying

hey, do you have any tips how i can bring back my natural blonde pigment in my hair? when i was a kid i literally had white hair, later i had really bright, beautiful blonde color. with age they get darker and darker what makes me really sad :( i know its also because of weather and in the summer they will get more shine and they will be bright but i want to do something too. are there other methods at the hairdresser that will lighten the hair such as nutrition, any ampoules instead of typical lightening with a dye that contains chemicals and damages the hair? 😢
