Forgiveness is not only for the person forgiven, it is for the person doing the forgiving, being set free from carrying the burden that not forgiving others causes. “Being right” is not always better; “Doing right” is. Forgiveness is Doing Right, even when it’s hard, and when the offender doesn’t “deserve” it.

True. I had my fair share of unforgiveness over the years. Held the mentality that since they had hurt me, I will one day make them pay. That only made me more miserable. But when I chose to forgive them and forgive myself, I found out that it's a lot simpler to live. My life is a lot lighter and free. Moreso because I know, even if I get hurt, I can still forgive. Because I had been forgiven by none other than God. Even if I don't deserve it through the blood of Jesus on that cross.

So True. Sometimes it takes Time, but Forgiveness is one of the most important things in Life. I found it easy to forgive others, sometimes very hard and have to stay away from them and no longer dwell on the past and hurt. The hardest person for me to Forgive was MYSELF.

oh, that's refreshing. Sometimes forgiveness just can't be given. I really love this. I often watched dramas where the parents abandoned their children to suffer and the child grew up in a harsh and cruel environment for years and then these hypocrite parents come back and they beg for forgiveness and in just a few days, weeks or months they're forgiven. Like WTF!!!!! and some who ask for forgiveness on their deathbed and the person just forgives cause the person is dying like my dude, the offender should've thought that he'll regret the cruel decisions he made on the future but no, they'll enact a pity party and guilt trip the victim into forgiving the person. You dying does not erase the fact that you abandoned, mistreated and were cruel to the victim!!! PEOPLE EASILY GIVING FORGIVENESS LIKE THIS MAKES OTHER PEOPLE THINK ITS OKAY TO BE CRUEL CAUSE IN THE END YOU'LL BE FORGIVEN!!!!! I SAY BULLSHIT, PEOPLE WHO SHOULDN'T BE FORGIVEN, SHOULDN'T BE FORGIVEN!!
@Priyanka-sf9if3 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with u. First do evil whole life then later fear God at death bed hence ask for forgiveness. Total hypocrites. I want to tell all such hypocrites that when u do evil all life then why do u dont have the same guts during death bed. Where do all guts go then? I love Andy for remaining strong on her decision and not bending for so called familial piety, its worth only when u have treated the one with love, compassion and respect. And this hypocrite man suddenly convinces andy of blood relations, then where was blood relation where u were literally ready to kill her and abandoned her at most needed moment.

You are confusing forgiveness with trust. Forgiveness is a gift, but trust is earned. She can forgive to set herself free and truly heal, but that doesn't mean she should trust, at the end, her forgiveness won't redeem them for what they did, that's not up to her.

One of the most sad situations in real life is an emotionally crippled person refusing to free herself and begin the healing process by forgiving someone. Bitterness takes root in the heart and the unforgiveness colors everything with such negativity. I don’t believe in karma, I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ who teaches love and forgiveness.
@MiguelRodriguez-zr7of3 жыл бұрын
Is true, she doesn't realized that she is in fact running away by wanting nothing to do with them. Is fear behind those motives, to avoid the pain. Also, her father and grandfather where not perfect, but neither is she, she is making a terrible mistake by doing that, and after hearing his side of the story, I understand why he did it even though I'm against it. Bear in mind this is a chinese drama, in China they are against Christianity, so is sad to see this happening.

It's easy for ppl to say forgive. I have never forgiven my father for the things he did. He's dead and I still don't forgive him.
@cucaa5929 Жыл бұрын
I am so sorry to hear that you have not been able to forgiven your father. With all respect I’ll share a few words. Many who aren’t able to forgive truly don’t understand forgiveness. Forgiving is not about the offender it’s about self preservation and truly knowing how to love one’s self. It’s taking back ones power to live in peace. Again Forgiving your father is taking your power back it is by no means saying that whatever he did to offend you to hurt you was right. While Un-forgiveness keeps us imprisoned in the offense it gives the offender unknowingly to them a power over us. A power they never had the right to acquire thru whatever it was they did; thus keeping,and feeding the offense while allowing the pain to thrive instead of diminishing itself.. When I say it’s not about him is that many offenders first may never admit their wrong so that means they won’t accept one’s forgiveness. They can never give us restitution for what they did to us but God can and shall yet in His own way. I was sexually abuse till age 14. I wasn’t able to tell my parents until I had my first child at age 20. When I learned and understood forgiving him was truly only about me never about him; when I forgave him I found a freedom that I never had before. I will not allow anyone to imprison me or keep me in bondage again. Forgiving doesn’t mean one forgets but what it does mean is that it opens the door offense imprison one in. And with time the pain it caused begins to weaken until those doors are fully opened. Now when it comes up in our memory bank the pain it caused b4 now has begun to be just that a memory that no longer can keep me in bondage. My mother never believed me so she continued their friendship but when I saw him…his hold on me did not persist anymore. I was now in control of myself of my emotions, & of my life- he could not hurt no more no the memory of such horrific acts nor this deplorable person. Also as a believer of Christ I also knew if I could not forgive him Jesus could not forgive me. [Matth. 6:14-15; Mark 11:25] I encourage you to read the book “Bait of Satan:Living Free from the deadly trap of Offense.” By John Bevere. This book help me understand even the more and how to live above reproach, God bless you!

Forgiving the person who caused such emotional scar to you will help you be free from your pains.. and for me, once forgiven, I will not spent unnecessary emotions such as grudge, hatred and bitterness for them… Because for me, you are feeling anger because the other person matters to you, they hold a significant part in your heart.. but if that person is only someone in passing, someone that you don’t really care, you will find that forgiving them is really not that difficult.. if they were there for me, they’re there, but if they weren’t there for me, mehhh.. so what?
