Do you know you can rent art ? For a year or two. From some museum or art gallery. It is between $200 and $500 a year, i think. Check on the web at rent artwork, you can find some in Toronto. Good luck.

Hi Art Historian here! No wonder, that you didnt find anything you love in these galleries. From what I can see, most of the art pieces there are rather kitschy and commercial. Valeria is right! You just have to fall in love with the piece. Art is about feelings, not knowledge, but often getting to know artist background and history makes you understand it and fall in love more deeply. There is nothing wrong with looking for an art online, there are many brilliant people on Instagram! But you guys have a privilege to afford investing in art, and I think it will be great for you (and for us, because you can record it, I will LOVE to see that! :)) to talk with professional art consultant, who can help you find great, high quality piece that you will love, but also could be a great investment. love you both V&G!

I have a bachelor degree in museum studies & art history and my advice is : get into smaller, independent and alternative galleries/artists! I feel like they usually are more "interesting". It's a win win as it will give them the exposure and your experience will be less commercial. The only thing is that if you plan to sell it later in life it might not be as lucrative as for a more mainstream piece. It's a gamble!
