I remember that and feel because he had leukemia and a harder to detect cancer, he wasn't as much willing to share to help others. Some with breast, colon cancer, ovarian, etc helped many go to the doctor's but leukemia is hard. You have a bad blood test, you are tired, have rash, but getting to the doctor early is the best you can do for any cancer. Leukemia which is gave to in a charity game (along with Newman's) is somewhat forgotten cancer.

hi happy. i appreciate the work you've done over the previous decade keeping norm's material alive, and complete, here on youtube. i even participated in it myself, a little bit. i saw him do Norm Plus One on conan, torrented that episode the following day, and uploaded it here. i got to see him live at caroline's on broadway, i guess it was his last performance in new york city. following a 45-minute closing bit on death, norm left, we all stood to leave, and as we waited to exit, under the lights, with his words still kicking around our heads. and the feeling they left...they played dust in the wind, in its entirety. it felt like the last time we'd ever see him. he knew that it was. thank you for keeping his work alive as a reference, something i could always google and find exactly the appearance, for helping me show norm to every girlfriend i ever had, and for being a true friend among fans. this is the end of an era. although i am grieving his loss, i am glad we could witness it together. keep the lights on. james

I think you're kind of missing the point. He wasn't Norm MacDonald... that isn't what he was trying to say. He was. He existed. It doesn't matter that he was a stand-up comedian, TV actor, film star... It didn't even matter that he was Norm MacDonald. WHO he was didn't matter. The fact that he WAS did. All that matters was that he existed. This was his plea: please remember, I may not BE anymore... ...but I WAS. I did exist. Please don't forget about me. It was the most brilliant epitaph anyone could ever have suggested for themselves. It kind of reminds me of the classic exchange from Tom Stoppard's "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead..." R - "Are we dead?" G - "No, we're on a boat." R - "Do you think death could possibly be a boat?" G - "No, no, no... Death is *not.* Death isn't. Take my meaning? Death is the ultimate negative. Not-being. You can't *not* be on a boat." R - "I've frequently not been on boats." G - "No, no... What you've *been* is not on boats."
