It was a total beat-down by my Birds. I was pinching myself when it was 34-0 at the end of the 3rd qtr and then 40-6 several minutes into the 4th qtr. This was a performance which our fans dreamed of but didn't expect to happen so thoroughly. I thought we'd win by at least two scores, something like 34-24, but it turned out to be a total dismantling which was a joy to behold.

@@jctslice no it’s pretty much true. Either Mahomes didn’t have any time or receivers weren’t open. Often both. It’s not like he was missing wide open throws left and right with all day to throw. The turnovers were caused by quick pressures and the pick 6 was a 3rd& 16 because he had been sacked back to back plays and needed a rollout play to avoid a sack and no one was open and they were already down so he forced it since they needed at least 16 yards or they punt anyway.

The helmet catch was a lucky miracle, but that record-setting team also only put up 14 points in that game against a 9-win giants team. People made these same comments about Brady as they are about Mahomes during a lot of those stretches. (He’s a crybaby, he gets help from the refs, the NFL is rigged for the Pats) It was as dumb then as it is now. When the Patriots did lose it was “they’re not as good as the 90s Cowboys, 80s 49ers,” etc. it’s weird how people crapped on Brady so hard for 20 years (“Brady cheats, Manning is better”) and now everyone remembers it so differently. For the record, I’m a Brady fan and during that entire run knew I was watching history. Love or hate the Chiefs, I feel the same now. Mahomes is 29, and if he plays until the same age as Brady may not pass him but will always be a contender.
