Interesting to see the differences in newer training methods versus the methods applied years ago. I'm old.😁

You can also use your flag to 'draw'. I know you like Warwick Schillers work and he has some great video on how he has 'finessed' his use of the flag for groundwork exercises like helping horses to develop supple bend.

Hey Joseph, can you share some insight as to how you would handle a mouthy (playful) young horse? I'm doing groundwork with a coming 3 yr old. He's doing very well but constantly needs to be chewing things such as the whip or lead rope. Any tips?

I raised a horse from a yearling , he’s 9 now, who was ultra mouthy. I thought he’d never get over it, it was a severe problem for years. I tried all sorts of techniques , I thought it would never happen but he did get over it eventually. Good luck!

I watch Tristan Tucker's videos. I could never afford the deals for his TRT method, but it is interesting. I like the idea of making the horse more confident and thinking for itself. It's probably a bit too advanced for me. I just started leasing a horse. I can ride and be with the horse for 2 hours 3 times a week, so I'm hoping my horse womanship and riding will improve over this year. I really enjoy these videos. My lease horse needs to develop his top line, so I'll be watching your video on that again next.

You can do it too, with practice! I can say it's very awkward at first! I use a lot of the communication techniques to make my requests clearer (more fair), and it does get easier. Wishing you the best for your time with your lease horse. It's such a beautiful journey ❤

Makes me nervous watching you use a circle rope around your hand while stressing a horse. I was taught to use loops & never a circle that can close on the hand.

I'm sorry but as someone who has worked a lot with very skilled ground work people and spend over 15 years learning from those people.. I'm cringing to the max watching this.. Your timing and releases are so far of and even with your explanation of what you are doing it just doesn't make any sense.. Specially not from the perspective of the horse. This has nothing to do with building confidence.. You make it 1 big guessing game for the horse in which you want different responses every single time with no clear questions asked. It's like you are just winging it and expecting a horse to just understand...

You don't do or show much with the horse. You talk too much, and he was not terrified. I dont like it when people put a statement on the advertisement page. I think it's called gas lighting.

@dsuper2709 Ahh, is that what it is called 🫠🤣🤣🫠 Thank you. As you can gather, I'm not sure of the terminology or a lot of phrases or abbreviations. I should try to learn them. I have quite severe fibromyalgia, and brain fog is a tiny part of the problem, and retaining the information is another. 🫠🫠🤣 I don't know about brain fog it's brain block, I'm sure there is a brick in there🤣🤣🫠 Thank-you again 👍
