@@nicolasschneider9034 That's why I said it depends on one's interpretation. I think he would, if he were desperate enough, even as Bratworth. Even Bratworth wasn't too different from the recent Edgeworth we know. Most of what made him different from recent Edgeworth was how he viewed attorneys and MVK. Beyond that, there wasn't much that changed. Of course, if he did consult a doctor, he'd make sure it was away from the public and would have his appointments during lunch break or something. Edgeworth has proven many times that how he acts towards the public and his true feelings/actions can be the complete opposite. I'd hardly consider Bratworth from AAI to be the same person we saw in 3-4, yet AAI's Bratworth took place before 3-4. One investigated everything thoroughly and went against MVK's wishes and the other one worshipped him like a god and withheld every evidence from the defense and Gumshoe to the point of pushing the defendant to suicide. From the way I see it, it's very possible, if his pride is used to shield his true feelings and can disagree/go against MVK if he felt strongly about it. There are plenty of prideful, stuck up people that would stoop themselves to getting help, if they had no other choice. MVK is the acception to this, but that doesn't mean Edgeworth is too.

People read into unnecessary feelings as "the gay line" but its so much deeper than that. Phoenix is a painful reminder of the worst time in his entire life as if he didnt have nightmaress about it every day, Edgeworth didn't want to see Wright or even think about him. He wanted to pretend his past didnt exist and just keeo bottling up every negative emotion till he bursts. But then he got accused of murder, and Phoenix finally put a rest to the dl-6 case, his nightmares ended, but he still remains unable to breath when the ground rumbles even slightly.... He's still haunted by DL-6. But Phoenix- one who had previously reminded him of the incident-- was now a trusted friend he could confide in. (Maybe this wasnt the right place to put a character analysis in)
