Greetings from Argentina. Thanks to your reviews I've started trying the Speed MP and it's awesome, so far so good. Thanks!

Hello, thank you so much for your reviews. I'm trying to decide between the speed team, extreme team, boom, and radical team. I like them all while demoing. About me: early 30s, club player, 5'5" and 105 lbs. Very thin, very strong (former pro ballet dancer) and generate sometimes too much power and hit out, especially if I fail to produce enough spin. Tbh, I've tried the MP versions and in many ways I play better on them, but I think they would be heavy for prolonged play. How can I decide between these 4 racquets? Working on using more spin and more control. (Also I play both doubles and singles). Thanks!

Great to have your insight on this comparison, Michal. I've gone to the Speed MP from the Speed Pro as I found the MP a little easier to play with as well as it having a bit more power and spin. It's just a good all round racquet. I have to be honest and say that I find the colour of the Extreme series pretty unappealing... I know that shouldn't make a difference, but it does. I don't think I'll use up any more energy (and money!) trying more racquets for a while and try to take my game forward through sweating it out on the court.

The weight in the throat of the speed was really noticeable when I tried it! I couldn’t figure it out why my forehand didn’t feel quite right even though the balance and sw was exactly as my current racquet… but this explains it!

Watched your video again very informative I have now bought a Pure Aero and a Extreme MP as well as the Speed MP I was playing with. The Aero seems to give a little bit more consistent power than the Extreme but early days still.

I purchased the previous model on a whim and I enjoy the Speed MP a lot. I am going to experiment with adding weight to the handle and bring it up to the Pro spec of 310 grams unstrung. I got both frames on spec of 300g unstrung. I liked the more open string pattern of the mp over the pro. Thanks for your thoughts on the current models. I appreciate your analysis.

Hi Michal. Thanks for the detailed analysis of the 2 racquets. Do you think the Speed MP needs to be weighted up with lead? If yes, how much weight to put and at which position? Thanks!
@CzechTennisGuy
@CzechTennisGuy Жыл бұрын
Hi Draconia, for my taste the Speed MP is perfect. No need to weight it up. But if you need more weight for some reason, try it slowly. Just 1g at the tip of the head and 2g on each of the sides 3/9 o'clock.

You can also try RPM Team. It's cheaper than Blast and little bit softer. Lynx Tour is a solid option for almost any situation, especially for spin, control and pop.

For me, visually Extreme Mp seems to have a closer string pattern than Speed Mp. Don t you think so? Thanks!
@CzechTennisGuy

I don't think so. Extreme MP has very big open string pattern for bigger spin and power. Speed has a speed pattern, that is closer to maintain better control and precision.

So Pavel, how do you like the Speed MP now that you’ve played with it. I was seriously considering these two racquets but was leaning towards the Speed MP.
@CzechTennisGuy
@CzechTennisGuy Жыл бұрын
Pavel is my brothers and fathers name, how did you get it? I'm Michal. So the Speed MP is really a great racket, great for flatter hitters who play more narrow tennis, straightforward and with more control and feel. I like the racket very much, great for sliced shots and also great on the net. Overall I feel like the Speed MP is one of the most consistent rackets that is capable of every type of shot from every position. I feel it's little bit more demanding compared to the Extreme MP so that's why I'm gravitating more towards the Extreme MP nowadays. But definitely if you are that ambitional player who wants that extra precision and feel, go for the Speed MP.

@@CzechTennisGuy to answer your question, your name shows as Pavel Rosenberg in your comment. I already play with demanding racquets and needing more power is not my need. Speed MP sounds like my ticket because its lighter weight, has more control and less stiff. more Control is preferred

I bought a Head Extreme MP lite(285g), If I want to convert it to a Head Extreme MP(300g), where should I add weight?
@rich.e
@rich.e Жыл бұрын
On the tennis warehouse website, in the university section, there's a way of calculating this; you need to enter the specs of your current racquet including swingweight so you must be precise; and it will show you how much weight to add and where to achieve a target specification. Be prepared that your racquet will likely not feel the same as the Extreme MP after the weight is added. Personally, however, I would add 2 or 3 grams maximum at a time and see how it plays before adding any more. Good luck.

@@CzechTennisGuy The yoke is the bridge with the holes for the main strings. The auxetic 1.0 is placed in the yoke/bridge The auxetic makes the yoke/bridge more stiff the higher the impact. the more the strings pull on the bridge the more it stiffens up. Its an adaptive tech. Its not more spring/trampoline effect.

Correct on quality control on euro rackets. I wish we could buy one and be confident its close to spec. Anyone knows a euro supplier who will measure for 1 racket ?. I also dont like the TWE matched pair service - could be too heavy or light. Head needs to focus on quality control like Yonex
@CzechTennisGuy
@CzechTennisGuy Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if there is a shop that has this type of service. I mean when you want it exactly on the specs, it would be very difficult for them to make it happen because then they will end uf with bunch of rackets off the specs and other customers could complain about it. But at the end of the day, the shops should contact Wilson, Babolat etc. and say: "Hey, you're sending us some rackets with bad specs, so try harder or we stop selling them." But this message should be from all the main stores like Tennis Warehouse or Tennis Point so they really listen to that.
@rich.e
@rich.e Жыл бұрын
Best way to get a racquet spec'd how you want is to visit a store and weigh up the ones they have, they're usually pretty helpful like that.... strings weigh about 16 grams, if it's already strung, and that plastic wrap on the handle is about 2 grams.
@CzechTennisGuy
@CzechTennisGuy Жыл бұрын
@@rich.e Yeah. The problem is that tennis retail stores are very scarce and most stores are online only. Mostly we have big spoting good stores where you can buy everything sports related, but they don't specialize on tennis, so they offer lower performance rackets mostly for beginners.
