I witnessed a toddler fall from about 5 feet from a slide ladder at the pool today. She landed on concrete on her back. Vomited about a minute after the fall. I felt so bad! Her mom took her to the hospital soon after. The sight was so scary for me. I am losing sleep over it.

@@Amandapuhlease Those types of head injuries are more common in older adults, and seems unlikely that an infant would have a subdural hematoma without significant impact that would also result in a concussion. A concussion is the most common and likely head injury to look out for. Those usually show up minutes or hours after an injury but could be delayed up to 48 hrs. I certainly wouldn't make a poor worried parent stress out about a subdural hematoma in their child. The child would have needed to suffer a significant impact for that to occur

@@joemann7971 facts are facts. It’s not about trying to make anyone worry. Subdural hematoma is always a possibility and parents should be educated on that.

@@Amandapuhlease Well, yeah. Anything is possible with head injury, but I do believe the question was more regarding how long before you know there was any head injury in general. Concussions can be delayed up to 48 hrs but will usually appear much sooner then that. Subdural Hematoma is just another type of TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) that could occur. There is a lot more than just Subdural hematoma.

My 2 years old toddler got her forehead hit with the corner of the window’s frame, like 30 minutes after she started having febrile 37 something celsius degrees, never reach 38. But it’s been 3 days like that, the febrile been coming and going away the 3 days. I am really concerned 😢 Will be taking her to the doctor tomorrow, hope is nothing bad.

My is 1 year old and she fell from our bed which has fallen from couple of times … she was sitting wrongly and fell from her back and hit the tiles with the back of her head , I immediately used ice to rub the area and she cried but later was fine and she haven’t acted weird she’s been fine ever since … it’s been a week now but just yesterday I noticed a bump on the left side of head and when I pressed the area it’s a-bit soft that I don’t understand what it is but my daughter seems normal , am so terrified b bcz I don’t understand what it is , am taking her to the doctor today , I pray it’s nothing to worry about.

Same here .my baby fell down on the floor(concrete)from the bed 3 times. her back of her head and shes crying for a second after that shes fine...i observe her everytime but no Syntoms or any abnormality i notice. Her behavior, all are the same and normal .my question is: theres any possibility that this happening having a bad effect to her in the future .????(Please respect my concern. )

I was holding my 5 month old baby when I abruptly turned and tripped over my 2 year old who was right at my feet. The three of us fell and my 5 month old took the hardest hit to the floor. I injured my elbow and hope that my elbow broke our fall before my infant's forehead hit the cement floor. I can't remember which hit the floor first though. My baby quit crying and fell asleep after about 6 or 7 minutes maybe ? It was nap time anyway. He's sleeping now and so far I've been able to awaken him when I want to. I hope he's okay. My two year old recovered quickly and Is back to playing and having fun.

My son hit the back of his head today but did not cry i got scared picked him up then i massaged then he cried....im still scared it was sleep time so ive always heard if they hit their head dont let them sleep so waited and 1o mins later he fell asleep on me. His head felt hot to me but idk if it was cuz of the blanket he likes to be covered. Im going to continue to check on him its 6:38 am so no sleep 4 me...but i noted throwing up n the bleeds from nose and ears for signs.....thank you he hit his head on the playpen edge which ive always said those are NOT SAFE.

please answer, my 9 month old baby was standing on the ground (she was holding on to the couch, she wasn’t physically ON the couch) the couch was her height and she lost balance and fell back onto the wooden floor. I’m really worried because she fell straight onto the floor onto the back of her head. So her head was quite red on where she fell and it got better a few mins later. She slept for a bit. I’m not sure if this relates to anything but she is crying over little things (she dropped her pacifier and started to cry, I left the room and she started to cry, she doesn’t usually cry over little things like that)

Even off a couch, you should observe. Changing table is very high for a baby to fall

@@Amandapuhlease The surface they fall onto also matters. If they fall onto tile, the injury will be much more significant than carpet from the same height. Carpet has a lot of padding that will minimize the injury by a significant margin. That's probably why they didn't give out a height since an infant falling off a couch onto carpet will likely result in no injury, while the same fall onto tile will be pretty significant.

Madam, My baby fell down from bed and hit his head at sharp edge of computer table roller support. Later Inoticed a all spot of blood onleft side of head. The next day that is today morning he had temperature. Is there any thing to worry as it was the sharp edge of wood where he hit his head. He is active when there is no temperature after acetaminophen drops.
