I am so excited to get these new supplies! I used to think stencils and stamps were ‘cheating’ but they aren’t at all. Like you said, they are a creative head start. I have used your other stencils a lot and every single time, a different girl comes out of my paint brush. Thanks Jane for sharing your creative gifts with the world! 💖🎨🤗

Yes! they are just a tool the same as any other art supply 💕. And anything that gets you creating is a positive!

I find there is zero shame in using stencils and stamps! I consider them to be like “training wheels” for art. I used to draw and paint for years as a teen and in my early 20s, then life happened and I stopped for many years. Then I recently picked it back up an realized I was soooo rusty. Jane Davenport’s stencils are what I used to refresh my memory.

Oh my, all the JD collection's are captivating, those Layer Cakes have been calling my name for a while now. I am super excited about this set of stencils, both the ready made portraits and the diy faces etc. :). Love working with my hands and getting tactile! :). Now I know where my tax refund is going. ^_^

This came out so beautiful. I struggle a lot with my creative process. In my head everything looks good but on paper it doesn’t. I don’t know if it’s because all my art products are from dollar tree, is the only thing I can afford, or because I’m just not getting good. I wish to get as good as you or at least half of that lol.

Hi Erica, the one supply that will really change things the most for you is the paper itself. Otherwise, just use what you have and keep practicing and you will just enjoy what you create more and more. 🤗

@@janedavenport Thankyou so much for taking the time to reply. I guess I get inpatient and I loose focus and I also get discouraged. I really want to have fun but I don’t also because I know I’m over thinking too much because I don’t want to be wasteful with the little supplies I have. What paper do you suggest the most?

@@erikaf1215 A watercolour paper will suit mixed media. Something with a little texture ( called cold press) is more forgiving. I only use my own journals and papers now because life is too short for crappy paper! You can see them all on my website ❤ janedavenport.com
