I think the original HL P3Es speakers have better projection - they sound slightly brighter than the P4ERS - and for me give a better vocal rendition than the than the P4ERS- I prefer the HL P3ES- thanks for sharing the, video loved the Ondara tune

Its a hard call, HLP3 sounds good as well on the vocal, more relaxing than P3esr.... love both.

I have a pair of these originial Harbeth HLP3's in much better condition -- I am debating keeping them or selling them.

Are the rubber surrounds of similar suppleness? The P3s are almost 40yo now.

My pair, which I just unboxed after having them packed away for over 20 years, are like new. They sound amazing. Edit- I have the original HLP3 in Walnut.

P3 sounds more natural

P3esr sounds more real tonally. I would keep the p3esr over the hlp3. The hlp3 had more emphasis on the higher midrange frequencies which just made it sound slightly off to me.

I have to agree with this, there’s significantly more sense of “full Range” from the ESR. Now whether that deviates from the 3/5A intention I can’t comment on, but the ESR produces the notes of the double bass, the p3 doesn’t.
