I imagine there would also be an issue of donor availability. You'd need a body that's otherwise okay, but it's got no use for its current head. Even then, you can run into the ethical questions of if we use this one body to save / improve the quality of life of one person, or if you use it to save / improve the QOL of multiple people.

Humans will end when the sun explodes and engulfs the Earth as long as humans don't cause nuclear war, which even as robot, you will not survive either one. You may survive nuclear war if you're in udnerground bunkers or in space, but the sun, nah. You'd have to travel space before the end of humanity unless you want to die with them. Either way, nature will claim us all. Whether robots or not. Go play the game SOMA. You may enjoy it.

I feel likes it’s a body transplant… also, it’s insane and wrong with our level of technology. Better to put all that energy, money and intelligence into figuring out how to heal severed spinal cords and treating muscular dystrophies. Imagine getting a new body that is so different from your original that you cannot accept it. What if the skin color is different, or a different sex? This is terrifying as a concept.
@Drak_Thedp5 ай бұрын
Skin color is no problemo if it gives you the ability to live a full healthy life. The sex is another matter - the hormonal system is different, so the brain is less likely to adapt to it. The robotic body, on the other hand, sounds pretty much okay.

My prediction for the future in this field is the developement of high fidelity chip interfaces which could either work as a bypass in case of spine damage where they would simply carry signals artificially over damaged areas, or in case of degenerative illnesses, where they would work as input/output hubs for data for prostetic limbs, possibly with some sensory feedback lik pressure sensors in them too. Robotic arms already exist. Now if we developed a whole external systems, something like full body braces with servos for muscles, the only difficult thing would be how to connect those to the brain, or the spine. As for the chip itself, i homestly don't see a reason why they should be hackable in the first place. In my opinion, a brain implant of any kind has no reason to be online. Sure, maybe to have some close proximity device for doing actual calculations and monitoring outside of the body with the chip alone sitting inside, but there's no reason for it to be connected to the wifi. I can imagine them looking something akin to insulin pumps - the contact device in body, with the main unit attached on the outaide for service access, system updates (provided by the healthcare professional during in person checkup), and so on

@maranathaschraag57575 ай бұрын
yeah - tech seems like the better options....rather than transplanting a head, is it possible to develop tech like we saw in Bodies (the netflix show) where Iris Maplewood had basically an external technological spinal cord? she was a paraplegic without it in place, but could walk when it was on. she took it off periodically to charge it. it's sci fi, but it seems plausible. obviously there would be scenarios where that wouldn't work, but it would cover a lot of things. i dunno..head transplants seem....creepy. maybe i've just watched too much Umbrella Academy. or too much TV in general.....

I can imagine if you did this on a human, it would be incredibly painful, and the patient would have to be on anti rejection meds for the rest of their life
