What a beautiful aircraft and great company you had along the way. Those types of conversations are the best but hey I'm an av geek, I could talk aviation all day long including in my sleep 😆 Loved the morning tour around Chicago. Glad you guys had a great time at Oshkosh. Thanks for sharing this with us all Mark.

I couldn’t agree more. I know some people might find these conversations boring and that is fine but I continue to post them because this is what has helped inspire me in Aviation and kept me enjoying the journey. Hope you enjoyed learning a little bit about Zach and Kevin and their stories. Thanks so much for watching and stay tuned for the arrival into Oshkosh!

Nice, and of course my teeth clenched and my gut tightened when you talked about Meigs 🤬😥

Right?! So so frustrating even now! Such a loss for aviation and the Chicagoland area especially! Thanks for watching. Please become mayor so we can bring back Meigs!

How did you remain within the Max Gross with fuel and 3 people? Normally DA40s don’t have a very high useful load?
@AviatorMark3 жыл бұрын
It’s a short flight and minimum fuel. But yes, coming from flying the Arrow even I was surprised to realize how tight we had to squeeze numbers just for three normal sized people.
@zacharyg5683 жыл бұрын
We planned just enough fuel to get there, which was a mistake! getting fuel at Osh was a huge pain in the butt!
@AviatorMark3 жыл бұрын
@@zacharyg568 So yes, pick skinny friends and take a little more fuel 🤣 Actually, fueling there usually isn’t that bad but they were trying something new this year that didn’t work so well. Next year they said they’re going back to the old system.

Do you have footage arriving at Osh?

Yes, hoping to get that one posted next week! 😁

That's a great plane. What's the hourly cost for the plane to continue my IFR training with Zach in his plane? Instructor cost and location?
@AviatorMark3 жыл бұрын
Let me check on that and get back to you. Maybe I’ll link a website or his info in the description box. Thanks for watching and asking.

Hey Siegwart, I have a couple questions for ya. Im flying a DA40 into kosh this year and the only time ive took it in the grass with just myself and a passenger and 30 gallons of fuel it got stuck...... any tips for taxing the DA40 on the grass? we will be heavy from all the camping gear. any help would be appreciated and love the vids! (Im commercial multi rated about done with CFI at 300 hours total flying time mostly in skyhawks)

Hey Zach kzbin.info/www/bejne/roPLY2Bth5atf80 You're the DA pro. Want to answer this one?!?!?
@zacharyg5682 жыл бұрын
We had the same exact scenario last year as well.. We didn't have any issues, so I would say to make sure you keep it rolling and don't stop moving. Remember the procedures for soft field operations. Also, were were in grass in slightly higher ground.. If you can avoid soft mushy ground.
