HEADED TO THE ER FOR IZZY 🏥

The other day Izzy was playing around, kicking the soccer ball.  She was falling and stuck her leg out and dislocated her knee, this is the third time on this knee and she’s dislocated her other knee three times. The doctor said it’s because she grew so fast that those ligaments were kind of stretched out and that if it continued eventually she would need surgery. It’s been a while since anything has happened And her knee was super swollen so we gave it a day to see if maybe the swelling will go down with rest, but it didn’t and she was in a lot of pain, so we woke up and headed to the ER. Our experience was not acceptable, she wasn’t a Important case so, even though we checked in before everybody else in the room, we were actually the last ones to go back it took us 2 1/2 hours to get back to the emergency room. Luckily the ER doctor knew us and was able to call the MRI department and this wonderful tech John was able to get her in. And I’m so thankful because I literally was in tears I felt  helpless that I couldn’t even help my daughter. The doctor wanted an MRI before she could be seen but yet we couldn’t get into the doctor we couldn’t get an MRI which means we would have no idea what truly is going on with her knee. But I’m very thankful that they were able to squeeze her in. Very very thankful. And after a long day we had to our favorite restaurant Temaki & Tea, and got sushi for lunch. Her knee is doing way better. The swelling is down she’s able to start move it. We’re very anxious to get the results of the MRI and see what the doctor thinks. I think Izzy ‘s gonna have to be very careful and very conscious of what she does because we definitely do not want to have surgery. Izabella was such a trooper that day and very patient despite her mom me discouraged.

My son had the surgery on both his knees. It was the best decision. He has been able to enjoy an active lifestyle since. The constant healing and brace time and all the physical therapy was really taking a toll on him. Prayers for a speedy recovery!

Yes medical in usa everywhere is like that. Hour waits. Incredable and meds are so very expensive

Oh gosh, a similar thing happened to me! My health issue wasn’t an emergency, so the doctor wouldn’t see me, but it WAS the most emergency situation I had ever been in😩 I burst into tears and then they made an opening for me in their schedule… thank goodness for compassionate hospital staff 😅 I’m glad Izzy was able to be seen… I pray you don’t need surgery 🙌🏽

I've had 2 surgeries on both knees and now need knee replacement surgery on my left knee first then the right knee. Mine are bone on bone and very painful. I just got a permanent disability placard for my car, I could get a disabled license plate if I'd like too. Hope she gets her knees done so she won't need surgery when she's at 50.

Omg. Girl. This reminded me of my knee. I had Carpel Tunnel surgery for the 5th time on same hand the day after surgery I was going down my stairs where it’s open on one side and I’m right handed so couldn’t hold the banister and slipped and fell 2 stories to the ground my body went one way my leg went the other but I landed on my leg no way my leg should be able to end up. I had a break but before it broke I tore my ACL and MCL. But ended up with a hip tear so now just waiting to see if they’ll do a full knee replacement and a hip surgery. It’s so much pain… when I fell nobody was home I didn’t have a way to call 911 had to wait like 4 hours tell my husband came home from work all laying screaming on my living room floor. Good luck Issy. No body needs knee problems they are the worst. Blessing girl 💗💕💗

I have rheumatoid arthritis. I was diagnosed when I was 19.5 years old. A few months after I turned 20 I needed a total hip replacement on my right hip. 1.5 yrs after my first hip replacement I found out that I needed a total hip replacement on my left hip. And that just three months after I had major surgery on both my feet. I had been in a wheelchair for 6 weeks, and I was still in medical boots when I found out I needed hip surgery. I call 2003 “The Year of Surgery”. I think I ended up having 7 surgeries that year on various joints. Opened the year up with surgery, and closed the year with surgery. Lol I couldn’t imagine just laying at the bottom of stairs for FOUR HOURS waiting on someone to come home, and find me. That is so scary. I hope you’re doing better.

Does she have dislocated kneecaps? All of my kids have had this in various degrees. They do tibial realignment surgery if it’s really bad. If not they will just tighten the ligament that holds the kneecap on. All me kids have to wear a brace playing any kind of sport. Her swelling is really bad good luck but do it while she’s young!!

I'm so sorry she is in pain hopefully she won't need surgery its so stressful needing to be seen by a doctor and not being able to. My son will be 1 on Tuesday we have been waiting 3 months to be seen by a ear/ nose/ throat specialist which was going to take place on Tuesday. On Friday they called to cancel it now who knows when he will be seen . He has had issues since birth and needs surgery to fix something that a doctor messed up and we can't get it done until the ENT says its ok 😔

I just can't understand your health system and not being able to get an MRI when you need it honestly I'm happy to pay my taxes for our health care system here in Australia, if Izzy was here she would have been seen had the MRI and fixed by the time she left 😊 hope she gets back to normal soon

If something like this ever happens to Izzy or one of your other kids again maybe try finding a medical practice that is focussed on orthopedics. With ortho being their focus they will know more about how to help you with whatever is wrong. They will also be able to order the correct tests. If surgery is needed they’d be able to tell you, and get that scheduled. If PT is needed they’d be able to help you with that. I have had joint issues for over 20 years now, and have had almost 2dozen surgeries b/c of the joint issues. I go to a very well known and respected orthopedics medical care group/office in the Southwest USA. They are the only ones I trust.

Is a Walk in clinic like a Urgent Care Place?? Always go Straight to the EMERGENCY ROOM they'll do a MRI, EX-RAY all TEST that need to be done.. Plus if it's really bad you will be admitted to the hospital for care or surgery..❤

You waited 3 hours at the hospital and it's long ? I don't want to see you here in Quebec Canada when you can wait up to 14 hours to see a doctor. I'd rather wait 3 hours than 14 for sure. Hope Izzy gets better. Sending her lots of positive and healing vibes 🤗🤗🤗❤❤❤

Canada has free healthcare, that’s why it’s so crappy up there. In America, 3 hours is a big deal because we actually pay for insurance. I know what it’s like to have to wait hours on end because I’m Indigenous, and we get free healthcare and we typically wait HOURS. Can’t compare Canada to America.

Oh no! I dislocated my kneecap many times as a teen - It's so uncomfortable and so annoying. I feel Izzy's pain! There is hope though, I'm 34 and haven't dislocated it since I had surgery at 15! Here's hoping she feels better soon! ❤️
