Hi Jim, Thanks for the comment. This can be a bit tricky, we we'll produce a video specific and post it here, but to help you out, In Office 2010 go to the Insert tab, then Page Number, Bottom of Page, and scroll through the list until you see the X of Y. It’s easy to miss. Hope this helps.

Reubendunn, you would need to create a section break. Section breaks allows users to create independent headers and footers within a single document. This also gives you the option to delete a header or footer from a particular page without affecting the rest of the document. You may need to create a section break before and after the page you want to delete the header from. Hope this helps.

Hi Usha, try this. Click the Review tab, then click Restrict Editing (You should see a sidebar.) Under Editing Restrictions, click "Allow only this type of editing in the document" and set the dropdown to "No changes (Read only)" Then Click somewhere in your template that isn't the header/footer and hold Ctrl-A to select all. Under the Exceptions part of the sidebar now displayed in Editing restrictions, click the check-box for 'Everyone'. In other words, your entire document is read-only except for the main part in the middle, which can be edited by everyone. Click the "Yes, Start Enforcing Protection" button, and set a password if you want to. Hope this helps.

Yes but how do you keep a header on one page but change each header on each other page? So far not one video has shown me this.

Soorya Townley - This is just a tad late, but you can insert a section break on each page and then uncheck Link to Previous. That will make each header be its own format and and you can make them all different for each page.

Nice video, but what is missing is how to insert the page count, e.g., "Page x of y". I keep forgetting how to do this, and Word does not make it any of its default formats--grrrrrrrr. Why is it so difficult to find the place to insert the page count? In Google Docs it is a specific menu pull-down item.
