It is doable but not enjoyable, take your time and keep track of what screws and bolts you remove.

Oh, I wish I had seen this video before trying this myself. I'd watched a few others that were not this exact model (mine is a 2006) and they were far easier. The wiring and ducting, even airbag mechanisms running along the sides of the ceiling. Your advice is right on the money. It's a big messy job, and as far as I'm concerned, not at all worth doing. I'm wishing I'd just taken a carpet stapler and tacked the fabric up with a bunch of staples.

Indeed, this is a major job and may not be worth your time. I like to keep my vehicles as good as I can which is certainly time consuming. Thanks for watching.

Go for it, check the description for the links for the headliner and adhesive. Spray on adhesive in 12-15 inch sections and apply from middle outwards to avoid wrinkling. You need 2 cans.

Working on my 07 TnC. Figure I will be doing this job again in a few years. Everything did not work out. But do not be afraid to try! I would NOT use Permatex Heavy Duty Automotive Headliner Adhesive Item # 27828. It set up too quickly and I could correct some issues.

I used the 3M headliner adhesive and it worked well. I think if your minivan is parked in the sun and you are in a hot climate then the glue fails faster.

I am in this process now, 2005 Grand Caravan, same as this one, 3 hours to remove board, 4hrs scrape, vacuum and clean old glue off and 3hrs spray and apply new headliner fabric (60in x 120in). couple hours next day to fold over and glue the overlap 1inch to back side of it all around. go slow, take time. Grey headliner on amazon, $60. , 2 cans spray glue 20 each. I like the Permatex spray glue better than 3M, they wanted about $700. to do this, so I am in for $100. -it is worth it. TIPS: keep track of screws so you dont mix up. there are alot. Board is like cardboard/paper based, not fiberglass. be careful at corners/edges. Support board in 3 or more spots when on the floor it does have curved shape.

MORE TIPS - WATCH A FEW VIDEOS DIFFERENT VIDEOS/ IT HELPS WITH 2 PEOPLE TO REINSTALL / SECURE THE 2 FRONT VISORS FIRST AND VISOR HOLDERS AND THE THE AC DUCT AND PUSH PLUG AT CENTER OF REAR HATCH. THAT LINES ALL THE HOLES UP.

yes, 2 people is a requirement, the headliner is large and you need to line up everything. .

Very nice job describing and sobering the amount of effort involved! My van is 2007 so assume everything applies. Two questions. 1) Before i go the route of removing and replacing, I'm looking at spiral fabric twist pins to pin headliner back up. From your recollection is there enough foam padding on factory headliner for pins to grab into assuming padding is not crumbling already? 2) if pins don't grab what do you think about poking drill bit up through sagging cloth material and drilling through headliner board, avoiding air ducts and wiring, then pushing twist pins up through drilled holes or using another type of interior auto panel retainer clips that pokes through drilled holes then expand to stay in place?

There is enough padding on headliner to do what you are describing. Mine sat in the sun for most of its earlier life and it was not disintegrated. Be careful not to drill through the roof! I f you plan to keep the vehicle a while longer then the removal and redo of the headliner is the best (but not easiest) option.

Great job at explaining it. Question, when when you glued the headliner did you have to buy a new one? Or did you use the old material. I have a 2005 Chrysler, Town and Country Limited. It has the rail down the center and a video screen. A lot more to do. I have no option, it only has 40,000 miles and has a handicap conversion. The headliner is the same as yours with just more to pull down and cut the screw holes.

@@Andrewsnotes1 Thank you. I was able to remove the headline in under two hours. I measured the headliner and 2 yards will do the job. Rogers’s and contact cement ordered. I will apply the industrial contact cement with a paint gun on the compressor. I unplugged the 3 wires and it dropped down, after the other steps. I still need to pull the video panel and track. Clean it up and put it on when Amazon delivers. Thanks for the video. Entire job is just as you showed us.

Thanks for the update, I am glad it went well. The 3M Headliner spray on glue was what I used, but I suppose contact cement will also work. Remember to apply the material from center outwards to minimize creases.

In the middle of removing the headliner board, but the wiring loom for all the ac and lights is glued to the top of the headboard. is there a disconnect box for the wires that come up both sides B pillars? It doesn't look like it.

No disconnect in pillars, you have to disconnect from the controls.

I only work on my own vehicles and post the results to help others. Maybe you can get a friend to help you? It's a 2-person job and certainly doable, but time consuming.

Behind the rear AC control, behind the overhead trip computer in the front, behind the connections of the front visors after you remove the 2 screws each has, and behind the cabin lights in the headliner.
