actually based on discussion i made with a chinese consulate, this dispute was a small issue about spratley and scarborough shoal. it got bigger to the point they were harassing fisherman in zambales masinloc is due to Aquino's administration stand on not going to bilateral talks and showing america as its defender. China got angry felt that Philippines is like telling them you cannot touch us because we are allied by the US. all China wants in the first place is to talk. this is the Aquino administration has failed to do that escalate to tensions. come to think of it we cannot do exploration and projects that would benefit our country on those territories because of corruption within our government. I like the idea of Digong doing joint venture with them instead of media war and threatened of confrontation. Aquino administration did a great job on standing on its ground BUT IT DIDNT HELP THE SITUATION.

What is clear is the analyst basically points out the obvious, the Philippine government did not even try. No matter how anybody will spin the issue it show a level of incompetency on how this was handled. My opinion and my small knowledge, i never heard about china was getting nearer to Spratly island, when the Americans was still in Subic and Clark air base, i guess the Chinese are afraid with F15 fighter jets, they shouldn't let the Americans leave the Subic, they should give them time to stay, and while the Americans are staying, negotiate with them regarding with our military hardware, then when its complete, perhaps we can stand with our own feet already, point here is, THEY SHOULDN'T LET THE AMERICANS LEAVE THE PHILIPPINES, we knew to our self we cannot fight with Chinese this isn't about like Andress Bonifacio, that just TABAK and ITAK can settle the fight, we are talking high tech weaponry here, which is we don't have,

I maybe wrong but you maybe right, point here is, if were only the Americans are still in Subic or Clark air base, this sort of invasion problem would never ever happen, the Chinese government doesn't want the negotiation, its just a show but behind that they will move forward and forward till they will get Luzon or perhaps the whole Philippines, we cannot fight them of course what else could we do, the Americans wouldn't help us straight away, they have their own problem as well, once again if they were only still here in Philippines, perhaps they would fight for us straight away, I'm not saying I'm into war but this things are serious, now President mayor Duterte would want a talk with the Chinese government and he said he cannot fight with the Chinese of course we cant, and he would want to deal with this in a proper diplomatic way, well we just hope because Chinese people has a conquering blood running to their vane. they will never allow anything to stop them, they will make sure they will have a good chair when the music stop.

Niko Shimonaka I dont think they will go as far as conquering the Philippines, The main point right here is China has historical claim on those island like the Scarborough and Spratley the tension grew when Philippine and America show military power and dragged the case to the arbitration tribunal, as payback China harassed small fisherman and build structure on those disputed island. Mas matindi magbutt-in yung mga taga-GMA katulad nina Kara David at Howie Severino. Pilit nilang isinisingit ang cynicism nila vs. incoming Pres. Duterte para mahawa ng negativity nila ang mga manonood. I can say this b/c i've been watching GMA news &public affairs programs more than ABiaS-CBN's for couple years now for the reason that they seemed to be more objective in their broadcasting esp. W/ regards to current affairs and their documentaries--at least in this past decade. But then come official campaign period and election time, lumabas ang mga tunay na kulay nila. Even until recently, puro pessimism ang pinaiiral nila in their reports about Mr. Duterte to the point it's almost like they're apathetic towards him. It's just disappointing.
