Heady Topper imperial I.P.A. from the Alchemist brewery in Waterbury, Vermont is legendary and scarce. I visited the brewery in Waterbury, Vermont and bought the beer- it lives up to its reputation and more. Pine, earthiness, hops, balance and more.

I had this one and Focal Banger (also from the Alchemist brewery) while in Burlington, VT. Great beers, both of them. I had a great time.

Bru Review Focal Banger is even more drinkable than Heady Topper. A little less hoppy. Less sweet. Great beer.

Great review Bru! I was lucky enough to try this decently fresh with a friend! I still need to post the review actually. I 100% agree with you that it's better out of the can. I was surprised, but it's true.

You were lucky to get this beer fresh. The brewery, although small, has great vibes. The beer is sold out by Thursday. Fortunately I was able to buy the beer recently. It's great out a can. I tried it in a bar over a year ago, in a glass. Better in a can. There's a thread on Beer Advocate about it not staying fresh after a while. I totally agree. However, John Kimmich, the Alchemist brewer has a video stating that one of his favorite cans is a year old. BA forum members disagree.

Haha I know. I saw the video. It was actually really helpful to see his perspective on the beer and how to serve it. I think the people on BA can be a bit harsh sometimes. I'm not a huge fan of the site anymore.
