Just curious where you KZbinrs get your healthcare insurance and 13:11 how much does it cost you per month?

Cobra cost too much most of the time. I used market place between jobs. Thinking about retiring after 55 and using the market place till I qualify for Medicare.

Thank you Mike for answering my question! I’m 28! work at Apple Corp. We do have a Roth 401K each from work. We’re filing separately because in 2018 we owed $10,000 to IRS. We want to keep our finances separate..never found out why we owed so much and where it exactly came from(we know it was under payment in taxes and some child support from him). I called IRS and FTB so many times to figure it out and they couldn’t even answer that. Thanks again!

Do companies get volume discounts for Healthcare coverage? What is the actual per employee cost(sum cost paid by both employer and employee) for Healthcare at a 1000-employee company vs a 100-employee company vs a 10-employee company?

Can your ex Employer change your COBRA plan after your start COBRA? My job was eliminated in October after 36 yrs and I started COBRA and looked into outside health insurance to get me to Medicare in April and my wife for 3 more yrs until she gets to medicare. The I found that my COBRA payment was cheaper then the outside market and Obama care in my area did not offer a PPO / HSA eligible plan . Then In Mid December they informed me that they changed the plan and the rate went up an additional $800 the new plan did not include my DR was no longer a high deductible PPO like my old plan was and and no longer was HSA eligible. Is this legal? and if so what are my options?

i am considering the marketplace--thank you for the tip on having a tax planner. we do our own taxes, our own investments, our networth is 2M and i'm starting to feel a bit over my skis. (it took me awhile to figure out that 69k was quite an important numbber!!!!!!!)

I learned I can (while still working) access (roll) my accumulated company contributions now (pre 59 1/2) out to a Trad IRA penalty free. Can I do this and then turn around and roll to a Roth IRA hereby making a Roth conversion now at age 53? Or do I have any tax issue since I still have my active 401k?

I work at Bloomingdales in Santa Monica, and due to covid the company decided to close the store. I am 57, have $180k in a 401k. I would like to convert my 401k into a roth IRA. Does converting my 401k into a roth count as income for the affordable care act? I would like to keep my income low to receive a lower rate for covered california health insurance.
@WiseMoneyShow3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately that would count as income for the Affordable Care Act. I would recommend you do a multi year tax projection to see if and when you should begin converting those pre-tax dollars to Roth.

i know people who complain about the group coverage. the ones you see are not complaining because they see it as taking care of each other, not "paying a bill"

I love your idea for attaching their parents health insurance when they need it before medicare kick in.

I like your ideas we retiring early 60 we can cover under our kids health insurance
@aundirussell86443 жыл бұрын
you don't have to insure your kids til 26. you simply CAN. you are clearly childless? lots of kids stay in school until 24-25 if they do grad work
@darwinjina Жыл бұрын
We compared adding the kid to our insurance vs having him purchase health care from the school. Ours was cheaper.
