I've noticed this about many artists lately. Spotify (although I don't endorse the platform anymore) opened my eyes and ears to a whole new world of music that I had never heard, seen and certainly had no idea existed and many of them are outstanding yet are relatively unknown. I was blown away and wondered the same thing. i.e. how does the radio (mainstream) get inundated with comparatively crappy music yet there are entire albums by relatively unknown artists that are incredible and must be heard by the masses but never broke through to widespread recognition. I've been recommending and promoting these artists via word of mouth as much as I can but I'm just one person. Some of the best music I've ever heard (and certainly some of the most innovative) is by artists that most people never heard of. It's sad....

CN: mention of self-harm, sui**** . . . . . . . . When Perturbator first posted this, it was less than a month after losing one of my best friends to sui****. I was the person who found her. The lyrics match up so closely to her struggles, my relationship with her, trying to do.... anything and everything to keep her here with me (including getting more professional help), and it fits eerily with the way she ultimately passed. Add HEALTH to those lyrics and ohhhh, I listened on repeat and cried for hours. The very first time I heard it, I had to stop after the first chorus bc it was too close to what happened. Once I could listen, though, I listened to it over and over for days. It eventually became very cathartic to process that loss through the music. I'll do anything to see HEALTH again when they come to Toronto with Perturbator in a few months, and it will make my life so full if they play this (and it seems unlikely that they wouldn't). ❤️🖤

I was driving home, my little stray dog was with me, it was dark and raining and this was playing in an underlit road. There it came to me, this idea for a story, a new substance shows up in a future, and to hunt its users, an inconspicuous piece of scrap of a robot comes to life, always knowing where to find the users of this new designer drug, a robot without a purpose, hunting people without a reason it can articulate, just following a programing that's beyond its ability to care.

I WILL NOT LOVE MY FELLOW HEALTH ENJOYING HOMINID. Nothing personal I just like defiance. Contrarians are sexy. I cannot disagree however with the consensus, SLAVES OF FEAR features Nostradamus and he deserves to be credited. Good thing the dude was wrong a lot. DECIMATION was a military punishment for a unit not following orders - often running from a fight. Soldiers were divided into groups of 10 and drew lots. The one who pulled the shortest straw was bludgeoned to death by the other 9 of his comrades; such a group was said to be decimated or reduced by one tenth. The song fits the theme of being so controlled by fear that one can become an agent of the worst in humanity.
