Wow, you sell a lot of courses and supplements. Congrats on the 500k subscribers. That’s a lot of revenue from KZbin alone. You must be making a ton of money. Well done. Could you also please give some concrete usable recommendations that would allow the people seeing patients and charting all day to turn around this complex bureaucratic system in just a few weeks. That would be much more helpful than simply criticizing wouldn’t it?

Diagnostic errors linked to nearly 800,000 deaths or cases of permanent disability in US each year, study estimates Misdiagnosis of disease or other medical conditions leads to hundreds of thousands of deaths and permanent disabilities each year in the United States, according to a report published this week. About 371,000 people die and 424,000 sustain permanent disabilities - such as brain damage, blindness, loss of limbs or organs or metastasized cancer - each year as a result. Medical errors are a leading cause of patient morbidity and mortality. Recent mortality analysis in the United States ranked medical errors as the third major cause of death, following heart disease and cancer, which were ranked on the first and second place, respectively (1). A recent meta-analysis of 70 studies involving a total of 337,025 patients revealed that the average rate of preventable patient harm was 6%, of which 12% was severe or led to death (2). The same study also revealed that errors related to drugs (25%) and other treatments (24%) were the largest sources of preventable patient harm, and incidents were more likely to occur in advanced specialties (intensive care or surgery) in comparison to general hospitals.

I am a retired nurse. When I think back on my nursing career and wonder how many live's I may have saved, there were about 3 I can remember I saved by following them out of the building when they left, then approaching them into the parking lot to tell them not to do what the doctor had said. One of these patients came back to thank me, my advice saved her 14 yr. daughter who had hypertension (but not as a chief complaint, she was being seen for the flu) and the doctor ignored it. She ended up having to have a kidney removed. That was the most dramatic, but my point here being that I had saved these people from their doctors!

My daughter almost lost her left kidney in Melbourne when she was 11 months old because the doctors in the emergency department at the hospital kept ignoring her, even though she had a 40-degree fever for three days and her eyes had started to cross. They did nothing but give her both Panadol and Nurofen, but her temperature did not go down. They made us wait for 8 hours in the emergency department until a doctor from the ward finally ordered some tests. It was the scariest experience I had in my life, and I also felt disgusted. We moved out of Melbourne and back to WA as soon as she recovered. And a few months after we moved out, guess what? A child died at the same hospital.

Then they told us that if we paid an extra 200 dollars she would be considered first choice every time she would feel sick. Sadly, mom passed away 2 years ago. But he was driving a nice sports car within a year. I'm not saying it was because of that extra 200 a month, we paid but how many patients he had that paid that extra 200 a month. Problems with UK NHS: 1 bloated bureaucracy introduced by various Governments, starting with Margaret Thatcher's Conservative Government. The salaries of these Administrators - thousands of them - are huge. 2 the NHS is captured by Queer-Theory Activists - DIE (Diversity, Inclusion, Equity) cadres impede proper communication and, again, are paid gigantic salaries. 3 immigration. We cannot sustain the free treatment of the unending hordes of foreigners who have paid not one penny into the system. Moreover, they often require treatment for diseases that would not occur in the native population. In addition to this, the self-inflicted injuries caused by their customs - FGM, in-breeding - cost the British taxpayer a gigantic amount of money.

This is a trend in NZ as well and a lot of the GPs won't to general medicine. They prefer to work in the area they have specialised in because it's what they want to do. It hasn't been the norm but is becoming more normal. I've noticed they won't look at any historical lab results unless you specifically make an appointment to do so and even then sometimes they refuse to look because that would make them responsible for offering treatment.

I am ashamed of the junior doctors and their uncaring and unprofessional behaviour. They clearly don’t care about the suffering their actions have caused to patients. I was a nurse in the immediate postwar period when doctors were thoroughly respected and we all pulled together. Many had been through the war, they were a totally different breed. The term junior doctors is misleading. Junior and senior housemen are still earning their speciality, whereas junior and senior registrars are well versed and certainly warrant, and I expect they get, a higher pay scale. Senior registrars are basically consultants in waiting, probably for dead mens’s shoes.

@GreenWhitePurple
@GreenWhitePurple Ай бұрын
The drug thing works differently in the UK. Doctors don’t make money from how much they prescribe. But what I suspect is that if your doctor wanted to see you it was for some sort of target-led reason like checking blood pressure? GPS here won’t take phone calls from patients trying to book on the day appointments because they don’t want to fail the target of how many patients are given an appointment the same day - that’s why they have the phones turned on for such a ridiculously short time in the morning. If you don’t let someone contact you, you don’t have to record that you didn’t give them an appointment the same day. On the other hand, the doctor has a quota of targets to tick off like smear tests or blood pressure checks. So that’s what they prioritise. My doctor refused to give me a face to face appointment when I had suspected meningitis, but the surgery sent me a text to come in for a blood pressure test.

They even spend half their time working in the private sector when consultants, doubling their pay & do not spend enough time in the NHS training drs. All I have had all my life is NHS incompetence, medical blunders, thry have ruined my health, given me permanent disabilities which they do not take responsibility for & cover up & apart from nearly killing me off on several occasions, they succeeded in killing my son through the most horrific medical blunders & incompetences you couldn't make up so at just 22 he was dead in less than a week. Working as a general practitioner in the medical profession it was my conclusion after 3-4 years of practise and for the remainder of my career that 25-40% of the gross income of general practitioners was fraudulently farmed. This was through such things as unnecessary over-frequency of follow-up visits, unnecessary hospital admissions, excessive lengths of in-patient stay in hospital, falsely-exaggerated classifications of level of care for purposes of billing. This state of affairs existed because the work of doctors is considered so sacred and solemnly and intimidatingly exalted that no one outside dared to question or to suspect their practice style. They work part time because most can't cope with the work load and the stress, and only having 10 mins with each patient. So they opt to go part time as a way of coping. G.P.s are very well paid and working part time still gives them a high wage. G.Ps are referral systems. They decide what might be wrong with you either they give you drugs or refer you on else where for the next step. They are the gateway to the medical system. Most GPs don't deserve a pay rise. Useless lot. Nor some hospital doctors. The covid-19 pandemic proved who or what they really care about. Well said Dr Dhand. Thank you.

I agree with you Dr Dhand. You made a very apt observation that such a high pay rise would not be granted to other professionals in circumstances where performance was poor or failing.

Dr Dhand, I do like your viewpoints but this is below the belt! Both Doctors and nurses ( the ones who do actual clinical care) deserve a pay rise which is long due. Yes, I agree many top-level physicians and surgeons have vested interests in big pharma and help create guidelines which most of the physicians follow or else you are not practising “Evidence-based medicine “! The government should invest in infrastructure to provide more efficient services to reduce waiting list initiatives for surgeons. Who are very happy to pocket the extra money as a ready-made private practice. The trusts are happy to plug money to make numbers look good. But why penalise junior doctors? They are trying to make everyone into physicians from nurses to EMTs, now physician assistants. That’s Travesty. Some nurses are doing a wonderful job on chronic disease management but they can’t replace physicians. They are not trained that way. They can practice template medicine ticking boxes. You can train a chimp to perform a surgical procedure. It is when not to operate, the decision process needs years of experience. I have worked both in the U.K. and North American health systems. So please, give them a break. I agree, medical students should be taught more about diet and lifestyle medicine. It’s a system fault. You can blame that on the junior doctors. Do you think that GPs don’t advocate lifestyle changes to their patients? Of course, they do. The society and food industry should take some responsibility too. The physicians were scared to question anything against COVID-19 vaccines and other forced mandates because of fear of being cancelled. So much for patient-centred medicine! Disappointing Dr Dhand. You can do better than that.

I recall my mom saying that she thinks teachers are underpaid. I informed her that the public school teachers in our city are in the top 20% of incomes in the country. A few months later, she repeated her statement as if I had never pointed out that it's just plain misguided. Teachers' unions have better PR than anyone on Earth.

It seems that people accept a bunch of stuff that one wouldn't expect. A few of decades ago, I think shortly before the fall of the USSR there was a program about surgery. The patients were getting cornea transplants. They were on the operating tables mounted on something like a merry go round. The doctors would perform one step then the merry go round platform would rotate so that the patient would move to the next doctor who would do there step. This assembly line approach was supposedly a great advancement. I remember getting into arguments with people who agreed. It is hard to figure out how stupid some are.

Same here in Germany. In my town 3 GPs closed, overnight there were thousands of people without general medical care. It took me 6 weeks to find a new GPs office who is overrun like everybody but took me in, where I am not comfortable but have no choice. Same in the hospitals, when you wait 3 hours to get into ER, youre very good. I waited 9 hrs one time (ok, no life threatening thing, but I didn't know it then. And the ER staff didn't know that before looking at me, either) Only thing that seems to function in my part of Germany is the Ambulance service. Ambulances are there in minutes, the Emergency Doctors who ride with the paramedics on the ambulances can solve many problems at location without taking you to hospital, they are cool, knowledgeable and friendly. I wish every doctor would be like them.

I have grown not to trust the medical profession. I had a wonderful doctor in the past . I felt we worked together well as I a team . I was thriving under her care. She used life style changes along with some medical necessary meds. My health insurance changed she was unable to continue caring for me & I couldn’t afford her charges . I am not sure about this current doctor & the way she cares for me or the way they are charging me. And the fact that I play telephone tag with the medical staff. I need care due to some health conditions. I don’t agree with the 22 percent raises to certain medical staff I agree nurse & some other medical professionals should receive raises over them. Thank you for charging your opinions on video You make a lot of sense on most topics you speak about

I think it is a fair statement that junior doctors in some countries such as in Germany are underpaid. Earning €2500 for someone with 10 years of training is really not appropriate. It comes down to what a government - and for that matter society - values. The fact that 80% of Americans do not have health insurance says a lot about priorities: military prowess - and money making - trumps cirizens' welfare.

Dr. Suneel Dhand, The foundation, structure, and capacity for "Intellectual Awareness", is now a passing fancy restricting the utmost bounds of human thought. Clarity must cultivate , hone, and re distribute a genetic disposition concurrent in how "form" establishes a "sub set" within a neural framework. Doctors are no longer instruments of "good" but rather enablers of "evil." Therein lies the pity!
