HIV testing and counselling can help in the early detection of HIV infection. It allows you to:
- get timely care and treatment
- learn how to manage living with HIV
- learn how to avoid infecting others
All HIV counselling and testing must be confidential, must provide pre and post test counselling and must take place with the consent of the person being tested. No one can be tested against their will.
HIV testing is available at many government facilities that have ICTCs and is free of cost.
