I’m 95 years old and grew up with two adages : “You are what you eat” and “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”. I was born at the start of the Great Depression with six siblings. Our evening meal consisted of a small hamburger patty (one pound divided into 9 patties), one small boiled potato, and a salad containing lettuce, olive oil and lemon juice and a small amount of onion and two slices of Vienna loaf of bread. We had two slices of toast and a cup of coffee for breakfast except on Sundays we had one egg and a slice of bacon and toast. No desserts and no candy. A small piece of cake on our birthdays. In the summer when we were able to have a small garden, we grew potatoes, carrots, green beans, radishes and tomatoes. In the summer there was an apple tree and a cherry tree and we canned cherries and peaches and tomatoes. I credit my longevity and good health that I now enjoy to the food we ate and didn’t eat back then!

Those born before the USA blasted a couple nukes at Japan in 1945 have a much better chance at good health and longevity since they didn't cut their teeth on the nuclear waste still floating around in our water, soil, etc. On top of that, the propaganda from the FDA and USDA has destroyed people's health. It doesn't help that the government allows corporations involved in food to climb right into bed with them and pay their millionaire lifestyle. It's all about greed. Men are incredibly greedy and will stop at nothing - even making food that can cause disease and kills you much sooner than you would have if you didn't eat their toxic waste.

Never had flu shots, all my life never took drugs. I just learned about nutrition in my 20's. I am now 80 years old with no chronic diseases. I feel great everyday. I buy the best of everything in organic foods. Never depressed either. If any things happens to me like accidents...refused pain killers. I used calcium and magnesium which are pain killers. Two apples a day lower lunf cancer and colon cancer 2. Green tea lower colon-rectal cancer Reduce inflammation in the body: 1. Cranberries 2. Chocolates 3. Strawbberies 4. Red bell peppers 5. Guava 6. Vitamin C 7. Generally lots of fruits and veggies Foods that hurt the bodies defenses/DNA/microbium and trigger inflammation: 1. Soda (the added sugar inflames the body) 2. He said he damn near died from the chemo, but he beat it and was feeling great. That was 10 years ago. My ex husband has been living with me for the last 4 years fighting cancer. The treatment is crippling, emotionally exhausting and made him lose his mind a few times, but he stuck with it and is finally out of the dark. He was terminal for 3 or the 4 years. And I've eliminated all foods that damage the liver and gut (sugar, grains, alcohol and processed foods) and replaced them with foods known to nourish both (fiber, grass fed, pasture raised, fermented foods.) The changes I've seen in my body, health, energy and mood has been nothing less than phenomenal. I've dropped 20 lbs and while I workout I am no gym rat. Wrinkles on my face, especially around my eyes have disappeared. My hands look 15 years younger. The thinning hair on my head is thickening. My energy levels are constant without peaks and valleys. Doc is correct, food has a lot to do with our illness. I know a couple of people who had cancer n the doctors gave up on them, but they changed their diet n walked away from hopices in good health. Moving our bodies n eating good foods will keep us healthy. I lost 80 lbs by exchanging my bad food for better food n fruit. I never tell my body I'm going on a diet, but we're on a journey.

Finally, a Dr that talks honestly about health and shares it. I have been practicing Dr Li's information on food and it works. Also his suggestion on calming the inflamed body through deep breathing and sleep is 100% true. My life is a combination of three worthy doctors Dr William Li, Dr Joe Dispenza, and Dr Mark Hyman. You have those three guiding your health then honey you are golden. Watched all your episodes with them Lewis and they were awesome. I listen in them in the car, around my kids, when I cook, when I'm sick, when I'm down. Years of seeking medical doctors and being told I was doing the right thing but never helping me except for banking on my insurance payments and deductibles, I finally found real medical help and that was on KZbin. Lewis do what you do because people like me is watching.

Food is often the cause of inflammation too. Wich is why I'm here hope to get information on how to eat healthier. Have an auto immune disease and only given predisone to help. Predisone causes way more problems when it's taken long term and I've been on it 5 years. So I'm happy to come across your comment and know that I am looking in the right place simply because you mentioned him helping with inflammation in the body.

Plus hydrating, teas, herbs and spices, exercise- simple walking 3 miles a day or more, so breathing deeply- rest, releasing and positivity- are all part of how I try to balance myself. I would add one more: creativity! True creativity- as in what am I attracted too? How do I see the world/experience the world? and what do I want to communicate and contribute? I teach creative process- and see the results everyday!

@@lewishowes Thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom. In 2016, I was diagnosed with estrogen receptor positive breast cancer. I have not had chemotherapy, radiation or surgery. I researched before making the decisions to not have any of the three. Instead I began eating a clean green diet with some fruits. All alkaline water and lemon water... fresh squeezed lemon in a glass of water. I followed this strict diet for about two. Then began adding the wrong foods again. Then I ended up having a horrible rash that left the skin and layers of the skin dermis thick, hard and painful. Also my left breast and left arm also has the rash on them and it has caused my left breast to become atrophy and my left arm is trying to do the same thing. All of these symptoms are now moving to my right breast and right arm begining at the shoulder. Please guide me as to what I should do to quickly bring this to a stop. I was seeing an oncologist and just the test alone that she was putting me through was harming my body more so I have stopped doing any of her test and now I see a medical doctor only and he tries to help me but he doesn't know what to do because no one seems to know what the rash is although the oncologist says it's cancer rash but it's not it's nothing that I have seen I have looked and looked and looked to try to find pictures of what I'm dealing with, and there aren't any pictures of skin cancer that look like what I have or described as what I have. I am a grandmother raising two amazing grandsons since the youngest grandson was 3 years old , he is 16 years old right now. My life has changed so much from taking the boys to boy scouts, soccer, football, band , church, to not being able to cook a meal! Im not giving up. I have much to live for. Thank you, Sandra.

Thank you for bringing this kind of information to light! I've been talking about this for decades and many people just roll their eyes at me. Meanwhile, I haven't had a cold nor flu in over 30 years, since I stopped eating meat and started eating only organic whole foods. I raised my daughter on organic fruits and vegetables and she never missed a day of school due to illness, unlike the other kids who had colds, flus, etc., several times a year. I also don't put sunscreen on my skin and at 60, having grown up in the So Cal sun, my dermatologist can't believe I haven't had multiple skin Cancers by now. He doesn't understand that the sun just draws things to the surface. That's a good thing! I just don't have a lot of toxins in my body to be brought to the surface. Thanks for bringing this great information to the world.

@@hanjoel7043 ….All I did was cut out cakes,biscuits,ice-cream,processed foods and changed from butter to a product called ‘Pure’. I cut right back on bread and changed to brown bread instead. If I ate a pie at dinner time, I didn’t have potatoes. On the plus side I upped my intake of fish from twice a week to three or four times using oily fish. I cut out alcohol to once a week and I walked for 30 minutes a day as often as I could. Eventually, my weight dropped from 81 kilos to 64 kilos but does try to fluctuate, that’s when I have a ‘fasting day’. I started this diet very gradually from the end of January 2020 and continued it right through to this present day. Make sure that any changes to diet are discussed with the Consultant as Cancer types vary greatly. My husband accompanied me to every appointment, as he was my ‘ears’. This was probably the best podcast I have listen to on how to keep ourselves healthy. Dr Li explained it in a way that I was able to follow and connect to. Thank you Lewis for having Dr Li on your program . I have never listen to your broadcast before, but I just subscribed 😀. I look forward to listening to more. It’s all about health and wellness. I am going to be 70 in April and want to live a life free of diseases, and continue to not have to take pharmaceutical drugs. Thank you - Thank you - Thank you …🤗🐬🌈

I just wish he had not promoted the flu vaccine. Saying it keeps you from getting the flu is a flat out lie. I know someone who got it every year because it was Dr. recommended, and got sick after taking it every time. Injecting your bloodstream with heavy metals is not only not healthy, but extremely toxic. Shame on him for saying it helps.

I think Dr. Li is the real deal. Everything that he advises is good common sense. The very survival of our species is in jeopardy because we are not being proactive when we think about our food sources and our current way of eating. Once we start to eat right, all sorts of deseases will fall by the way side. We have always had the power to fix what ails us. Let food be our medicine.

@@margiecolmenero612:23 I juice 2 a day. Just started this week. Lots of celery and greens, all the anti inflamatory foods. Lemons with the skin and apple cider vinegar. Am off ibrufen from 3rd day for my polymialgia. I also have breast and bone cancer and going to beat it with this juicing. Eat all the pulp as well. Very important. 36:00

I tell people what they eat and do today may not show for years. I have followed almost everything you have said since I was 24 years old and I am now 74. I have had a few treats but I love salads and prepare my own salad dressings from real olive oil. All my meals are prepared from scratch. My mother taught me that anything in a package was expensive so it was monetary at first and then healthy concerns

I always watch your videos, but this one is a keeper for reference purposes. Keep up the great work. I send bits and pieces of your videos to family that is older, or simply not educated to help them stay healthy. They can relate to you and your way of using simple communication skills to explain these complicated ideas more than anyone else I follow. Your awesome smile helps also.
