They sell Ezekiel bread at Ralph's. Of course it's on the the top shelf level where it's hard to see over all the bad bread, but everyone ...just look to the top shelf. Ralph's has like 4 kinds. Ralph's is the same as Kroger. I live in Southern California.

Hey again. I'm from Denmark so I'm sorry if my English are bad. Well I take a bowl with half-warm water. Let the yeast (Like baking soda) dissolve and then you just put your favorite flour in in the water. It's going to be sticky so don't use your hands, use a big spoon. Let it raise for 3-5 hours and take a metal spoon. Dip the spoon in to a glad of water and "cut" a piece out and put it on your griddle. Bake it for 30 min. I hope this helped you. And remember salt and just try until its good

We freeze bread in our house too! My husband is Asian and doesn't eat much bread and neither do my kids or I so it would go mouldy otherwise. I make my son's sandwiches for school with frozen bread and it defrosts in his lunchbox by lunchtime, no probs at all. Or if you want the bread straight away just zap it for a few seconds in the microwave to defrost it. Actually we freeze most things, leftovers, cakes, biscuits, keeps it fresh for longer and saves waste. My Mum used to do the same too! :)

try rye bread (the germ and bran in the endosperm remain during processing ) it''s also high in fibre and low in fat, and doesn't create high spikes in blood sugar

Hi! I'm only 22 years old and already getting grey hair! I'm a brunette and I understand I'll have to dye my hair for the rest of my life (well till I'm at an age that I'm comfortable with grey hair lol) Do you have any recommendations for hair dye that isn't damaging and has good grey coverage? Thank you for being such an inspiration!

I think it really depends on the size of the city you live in. My home town didn't have a bakery. I live in Canada now and the itty bitty town we're in has a small family bakery, but they don't make anything other than white bread/rolls.

just a recommendation - you might want to consult with a nutritionist or your doctor. though cassandra has done alot of research for her own health needs, each person has different needs in order to be healthy. for general recommendations, do a search for the food pyramid. you will find a wealth of information on serving sizes and what foods serve your needs better than others.

I really reccomend baking your own, because most bread, despite how good the ingredients may be, are usually made with the chorleywood bread process, which basically whizzes the ingredients up and pumps the dough full of steam to bake it in minutes, and requires no kneading. This is good for businesses so they can make it all very quickly but it doesn't work the gluten in the bread, which can make it very unhealthy, I reccomend looking up the bread process :)

I recently just learned this, but to actually find out how many calories there is in something just take the amount of carbohydrates and multiply that number in grams by 4, the amount of protein and multiply that number in grams by 4 and take the number of fats and multiply that by 9. Add those 3 numbers up and that's the actual amount of calories in the product. Company's tend to round it down to the nearest 10th or they will leave it the same.

Also you can see if the percentage of carbs, fats and proteins is in the actual percentage that you should have in a product. Carb is 55%, protein is 12-15% and fat is 30%. Just take the number you got from each and divide that by the total amount of calories and multiply it by 100 that will give you the percentage and you can see if its way to much of one or really less of another.

What about acne and gluten? I find mine is related. I got soo much better giving up cow milk, but, having a hard time giving up wheat flour simply cause there aren´t other choices around here. I think gluten will affect you no matter if whole or processed wheat...

That is true if the grains are not properly prepared. Grains should be soaked and sprouted to break down phytic acid, anti-nutrients, and unlock as much as 80% of the nutrients within the grain that would otherwise not be digested and used by our body. This crucial step in making bread has been lost in the past 60 years or so and it is rare to find a commercially sold bread that is made from sprouted grains. The Ezekiel bread she showed us looks good. It's made from sprouted grains.

The cool thing that you didn't mention with the Ezkiel bread is the quote from the Bible is the basis of the receipe and the combination of grains works out to all the essential amino acids. Kind of cool isn't it?

Giant's "Nature's promise, Heart Healthy Bread" is also really good. There's 100 calories per slice, 1.5g fat, 180mg sodium, 20g carbohydrates, 3g fiber, 2g sugar, & 5g protein. The ingredients are water, whole wheat flour, whole grain barley, vital wheat gluten, brown sugar, yeast, dry honey, and 2% or less of whole grain wheat, soybean oil, salt, natural mold inhibitor, and ascorbic acid. It's about the size of a normal slice, and I also freeze my bread! So it toasts really nicely :)

As a German, I found that video so weird to watch, because i actually know no one who eats only white bread. Here its really easy to get healthy bread, and we don't have that much packed bread, or at least were i live, most of the time we just buy bread at bakeries without all of that plastic. But I love to watch your videos and i think that it's really great that you try to avoid those unhealthy types of bread. This actually reduces my/our prejudices against Americans! Thank you for that.

It's so cool in Holland, most of the bread that says it's healthy and stuff actually is healthy (: when I first started watching your videos, I was so worried that our bread would be full of sugar, because it looks kind of manufactured, but there isn't any sugar in there (: but I AM sad that we can't get sourdough bread... I aaaalways eat it when visiting my family in the US
