German farmers used to pay British soldiers to have "accidents" and shoot their cattle. They could then claim the insurance off them which was way more than you would get selling the cow.

In most situations, The Farmer should be the last person asked to destroy animals in his herd. Such responsibility can be extremely damaging to The Farmer’s mental health. Bad enough that animals need to be destroyed, worse still the expectation that The Farmer do it. And if not The Farmer, who then should assume the responsibility?

There was a stampede of wild cattle where i live where they went into peoples gardens and destroyed fences and could have killed people if they were going for a walk. I don't see the issue with the army being used as a last resort in emergencies
