I still find it funny how people just go "What? Silent Hill? That's not scary". Which is fair, but...dude it's way more scary compared to so many games we've had the past 5+ years.

The noises Hean was making and the things he was saying I thought he'd eaten a really spicy pepper just before the clip. Shortness of breath, "get past it..." "face feels numb..." sharp inhalation... but then "every fiber of my being screaming at me to stop." Stop what? Huh? I don't think I can imagine being in that sort of state from fear... I guess based on my first impression, it would be akin to what I see from people who do extreme high Scoville spicy food challenges. I imagine there's a sense of fear from that as well, that your taste buds will be on fire forever haha. I seem to have missed out with regards to horror. I guess my parents (dad in particular) did a good job keeping those M rated games away from me for quite some time until I was at least a teenager for the most part. R rated movies, too. I remember having to sneakily watch The Matrix movies which uhh... eh? Like that one scene from the first movie with the creature going into Neo was damn creepy but didn't really leave any trauma or anything. I mean they took care of it without too much trouble a little while later. I haven't played a lot of horror or seen much horror movies so I guess I'm not sure exactly how I'll react to them. It'll be interesting to try some things for the first time while streaming.

@@Hean I feel like I'll have a sort of lack of reaction to the horror genre. I might not have played myself much but I've watched the Pengionz0/MoistCritical Charles White videos over the years where he played horror games and I think I have learned through observation of those how to avoid being startled by jumpscares. It will be interesting to see if I'm right hahaha. Also yeah I understood what your "body telling you to stop" meant in retrospect, I was just giving a narration of my reaction to the video, not understanding the physical effect of that fear/trauma since I don't feel I had seen anything like it before, other than seeing how some people react to exceptionally spicy food. That is pretty funny that your response to high levels of spicy is more restrained than most, in that case!

@@fissionphoenix4995 Thing is, it's VERY different to watch other people play and to play something oneself. Not just that, but even when watching someone, depending on how much into the game(s) they are, it can change your reaction too. Jumpscares aren't scary though. As you said yourself, they're startling, but that has nothing to do with actual horror. Ah yeh, makes sense :> Yeah, I mean, I did eat the 'Last dab' on stream and was like "Oh, this is nice and sweet."
