They spend years on training how to be an astronaut finishing college for engineer to get a higher degree so clearly they are not doing it just for the money it seems like a fun job as well as hard. They want to experience what its like to be in space. Get your facts straight 🙄

If you enjoy the computer you typed your comment on, then you should be happy for the tech advances that are directly related to the Space Program. (Including the micro chips that make your computer and countless advanced medical machines work.) Your comment is short sighted and ignores a much larger picture.
@ruthlyons544 жыл бұрын
emkkahn , I feel the timing is inappropriate as our small businesses are being eliminated. Perhaps hunger and homelessness should be funded as more lose their home. Piss poor management on earth, now they want to go exploit another planet?
@emkkahn4 жыл бұрын
@@ruthlyons54 I disagree. Tomorrow's technologies will solve today's problems. Just like the industrial revolution in 19th century brought 100s of millions of people from living in extreme poverty and created the middle class. Living in space is very, very hard to do. The processes of creating new technology and new manufacturing helps humans way more than give trillions of dollars to despots around the world. How many people have been saved from diseases by having access to drugs that are made by micro production techniques? Or by CAT Scans or MRIs? If we, as a species, just stop investing in the future and focus on the present we will not get any better as people.
