I remember singing this song as a child growing up in Jamaica. At that tender age, I never really knew how profound the words of this song were. However, now I’m a born again Christian, I fully understand them and they touch the core of my very soul. Thank you, Lord Jesus for rescuing me from sin!

This song was played at 10 am for the mid morning meditation on Radio Jamaica, RJR. Pat Boone's Sweet Hour Of Prayer was played for the mid day meditation. The late Rev. Cleveland Grant read inspirational poems while this song played softly in the background. This was about 30 seconds before the mid day news on RADIO JAMAICA (RJR).

My beautiful Trinidad 🇹🇹 that I grew up in. Memories of a country filled with peace love and respect. Times have changed and the challenges abound. However God , creator of all that is , will always be in charge. May all who listen to this prayerful song receive a blessing of peace protection and comfort Love and light to all. Thank you for the music. !

I attended Saint Francis Seraphic Seminary from 1967 to 1971 in Andover, Massachusetts. I think as of c.1968 or 1969 (it could have been 1970 , perhaps) this song or maybe even a hymn (?) was very often a part of our Masses in the earlier part of the day... I remember it very well and, of course, was most fond of it. This was more than 50-odd years ago. I listened to it, here, but I don't remember hearing the verses at all (?). We usually used guitars but occasionally I played it on the electronically-powered chapel organ. The seminary, saddly, do es not exist any more. I think it was torn down about 6 or 7 years ago?? The old cemetary still exists - so I saw in recent photos of the area. I know a film was made about this at the time...😢😢😢😬😬😬😢😢😢😠😠😠

Maria Alonzo, one of Trinidad's most beautiful and powerful Vocalists and Recording Artist. An excellent Spanish Teacher, a resilient follower of Jesus and a great Goretti Youth Group Leader. We sure went Globally with Maria Alonzo! This Song means God Almighty, the Creator of our wonderful Universe, the Oceans, the Clockworks of the Moon, Sun, Thunderstorm, fruits, flowers, awesome Animals, just name it! Where was our Prophet Messiah Jesus PBUH again? I will tell you though, with total Due Respect, and search for the truth, ask questions. If one's FAITH is really in line with our Creator of our wonderful Universe, then know this: Almighty God Will Never be a Merciless God, suffer and Kill, to some "God", okay, then kill His young Masiah! For your Children's unborn Children's Sins (what sins again are we speaking of)⁉️ God will always be a good God to the Faithful, however, you biggest unforgivable SIN is associating anyone, and anything with God! It's okay to be lost, fooled, not being able to interpret, you are not going to hell for the preachers in their Limo's Estates globally, and etc while you take the bus. Their knowing misinterpretations is not your Sins, you already have the Faith in their Faults, so search and you shall always be forgiven. Chorus Hear, O Lord the sound of my call Hear O Lord and have mercy. My soul is longing for the Glory of you, O Hear O Lord and answer me. 1st Verse Every night before I sleep, I pray my soul to take, Or else I pray that loneliness is gone when I awake. Chorus Hear, O Lord the sound of my call Hear O Lord and have mercy. Chorus Hear, O Lord the sound of my call Hear O Lord and have mercy. My soul is longing for the Glory of you, O Hear O Lord and answer me. 3rd Verse In you O Lord I place my cares and all my troubles too Oh grant dear Lord that someday soon I'll live in peace with you. I first heard this song when I was about 4 years old in Jamaica. I'm now 40. I was the first religious song I learnt hearing the soloist and the choir warmed my heart with the steel pans in the background. I didn't even knew what steel pans were until later down I was introduced to what made such beautiful music, thanks to "Hear O Lord" for arousing my curiosity. This song was the first song I knew how to play on the organ and the first song I knew how to play on the steel pans. lets just say it has inspired me to learn the pans and its my favorite hymn.

I heard it one time and it's when I was graduating from the 6th grade in Jamaica. Our school choir sung it, that was 1994. Ever since then I fell in love with the song. I never knew the name of the song but the chorus stayed with me. I prayed multiple times unto the Lord for him to let me hear it again because all I could hear was the choir singing it in my head, not knowing that my friend that used to live with us had the record in his cd collection the whole time. The song came back to me

It was a surprise for me to hear this song which brought back childhood memories in St. Lucia and St. Croix, both my grandmother and mother played this album back in the 70s. Hearing it bring tears to my eyes. Thank you, Lord Jesus for great childhood memories.

Like so many people have already commented, this song is a time machine that takes me back to the 80s when I was in Primark school in St Vincent and the Grenadines. Daddy had gone to Trinidad from where he sent our first cassette player. This song was one of the moving songs that watched in our memories ever since. In fact I have not heard it since those long lost childhood days. Wow just wow

Even in 2024, this song and all the others on the LP take me back to my teenage years when I was an emerging musician. Bravo to the genius of music director June Williams-Thorne, the timeless voices of Holy Name Convent Choir, and soloist Christine Cardinez. What a treasure to hear you all!

As I read Psalm 30 , I remembered this song being played Noonday Medication on RJR i think when i was young ! Such a blessing praised God . With tears i pray we all Turn to Him, Jesus will soon return. If anyone wronged you , forgive them. Anyone you've wronged ask for forgiveness ( if possible, maybe they're dead or don't know where to find them.) Ask the LORD to forgive you and forgive you, call for his help ,Hallelujah !

This song is a gem, a rare jewel of christian music. The only tragedy is that not only is it lost to contemporary Christian music but that most of generation X and Y have no inclination or knowledge of it.

Such beautiful sentiments and amazing memory stories from all those who sang it and became part of the Catholic Faith many many years ago. God has touched the souls of so many and this song, and composer (Repp) has done so much to bring this about. I've only become familiar with this song 3 years ago, and my grandchildren just love it as we sing it in the car on our way to great times. Thank you Mr. Repp!! God Bless your soul.

I was doing a remembrance ceremony for my parents. They both passed on in the past 2 years. Nothing big just photos of them and candles and I gave them offerings of food they liked. I was looking for music to play for them and I finally found this recording after searching for it for years. They played it when I was a child. They definitely sent it to me.
