His speech is well crafted and filled with respect. He does not seem unreasonable and hell bent on escalation. He might be or not be a monster, however, he reiterates that he is open for a dialogue. The west had "peace meetings" without the country you are at war with. This shows that something is very wrong with the western world. To me it seems that Russia would allow Ukraine neutrality with most of its territory intact IF Ukraine would drop the idea of joining NATO. I remember taking Russian studies in Hgh Schl but I don't remember what I studied. I think it would be useful to me as an American to spend the time understanding that history. I know this; it is a different culture and to them we are the West. The war need not have happened, need not have been the result of provocation. It is a terrible tragedy.
